A warm welcome to all new members of our Ancient Apus Andean Ecovillage Page. If you would like to receive the Vision Document, please message me and I will send you the PDF.

If we are not already connected on my personal Profile, please follow me there, so you can see the history of our nonprofit social service work here in Pisaq, and our regular updates:
http://www.facebook.com/SananPisaq

Please share this Page with anyone you know who might be interested in Ancient Apus Ecovillage here in the Peruvian Andes
https://www.facebook.com/AncientApus/

After you have read the Vision Document, if you are inspired to go deeper, we have a Private Group for those genuinely interested in possibly being a Founding Member of Ancient Apus. Please message me.

There I will share more intimately about the vision, the land, our progress. Also folks can ask questions, bring up ideas, insights, inspirations, give feedback, have conversations, engage etc., as this is a living vision.

Ultimately what will be the lived, grounded real life manifestation of Ancient Apus will be formed, inspired and brought to life from the unique, beautiful beings who will be called to be part of this very special project.

That is the chapter we are in right now. Calling our tribe. I am so grateful, humbled and filled with love and joy to have reached this part of our journey. It has been a long time in preparation. I have many stories to share of how this has all unfolded.

I feel like we are in perfect alignment with all aspects:

The earth...the land we have is absolutely some of the most peaceful, beautiful, and fertile land in the entire Sacred Valley

The local people... we have a decade and a half of profound love, trust, mutual care, familiarity and social connectivity here.

The vision...as you will see in the Vision Document, this is a deeply considered vision, embracing the learning and experiences and guidance I have received over all these years of living and working here. I believe it is one of the most unique and inspired vision for intentional community I have ever seen or come upon. It builds our own legacy while creating a beautiful grounded life for ourselves, in an incredible location, with what will be a varied, wonderful and inspired group of unique beings, sharing their learning and gifts.

Those who participate in our retreat center: The Mountain Sanctuary, will have a most unique, life changing and profound experience. Beyond anything being offered in the Sacred Valley up until now.

And the local people here will be profoundly blessed by what we are creating and the impact we will have.

Over the coming days we will be launching a new website for Ancient Apus and also for Amistad Sagrada.

We will soon have 3D images of what our ecovillage will look like once all the infrastructure is built out.

I will also be creating a series of videos, on the land, sharing the vision and how beautiful the land is.

Thank you for your presence here.

Sanan 🙏

AMISTAD SAGRADA: THE 17-YEAR FOUNDATION

How Ancient Apus, The Mountain Sanctuary, and SanAshram All Weave Together

Now that you've learned about Ancient Apus Ecovillage, The Mountain Sanctuary, and SanAshram, here's the story that connects it all:
Amistad Sagrada - Sacred Friendship

Our nonprofit organization serving indigenous Quechua communities in Peru's Sacred Valley since 2009.

This is the foundation upon which everything is built.

The 17-Year Journey:
For approaching 17 years, through Amistad Sagrada, we have:
💚 Served indigenous mountain communities with education, health support, and cultural preservation

👨‍👩‍👧 Built deep, trust-based relationships across all levels of society - elders, families, children, authorities, institutions

🏔️ Established connections with all 12 indigenous mountain communities in our region

🏫 Created proven programs - schools, infrastructure, elder care, cultural preservation

📍 Earned a reputation as widely known, loved, and respected - not as outsiders or tourists, but as family

We are woven into the fabric of life here.

Our Current Programs:
Yachay Wasicha School (Pisaq):

* Comprehensive free education for local children
* Blending academics, Quechua language, traditional culture, arts, and life skills
* Preserving indigenous identity while providing educational opportunity

Mountain Community Programs:

* Weekly classes and hot meals in remote villages
* Infrastructure we've built: malokas (ceremonial spaces), communal oven, gathering place
* Cultural programs and family support

Elder Care Pilot:

* Daily meals and support for vulnerable elders
Model for expansion

Social Connectivity:

* Deep relationships throughout Pisaq and mountain villages
* Integration with local institutions
* Cultural exchange and preservation
* Nearly two decades of consistent presence

The Challenge We've Faced:
For 17 years, we've relied on donations to sustain this work.
We've served with consistency and integrity - but sustaining a nonprofit on donations alone is virtually impossible in today's world.
We've made it this far through dedication and support from people who believe in our mission.
But it hasn't been easy.

The Breakthrough: Ancient Apus
Now, everything changes.

Ancient Apus creates the sustainable foundation that allows Amistad Sagrada to not just survive, but massively expand.

Here's How It All Works Together:
🏡 Ancient Apus Ecovillage provides:

The land, infrastructure, and residential community
Sustainable living model
Home for members committed to service
Integration with local communities

🏔️ The Mountain Sanctuary provides:

Transformational healing experiences for guests
SUSTAINABLE INCOME that funds community AND nonprofit
Bridge to the world (guests become donors, volunteers, ambassadors)
Regenerative exchange, not extractive tourism

🙏 SanAshram & Volunteer Village provides:

Hands-on participation for those exploring
Service-based spiritual practice
Gateway to deeper involvement
Direct support for all programs

💚 Amistad Sagrada provides:

The 17-year foundation of trust and relationships
Proven programs and community connections
The purpose and meaning that makes Ancient Apus more than just an ecovillage

The why behind everything

The Financial Model:
The Mountain Sanctuary retreat center generates income that funds:
✅ Ancient Apus community operations and infrastructure
✅ Amistad Sagrada's current programs (school, elder care, mountain communities)
✅ Massive expansion of service work

For the first time in 17 years, we will have sustainable funding.

What This Expansion Looks Like:
Sumaq Kawsay: Andean Natural Healing and Educational Center

Affordable, culturally appropriate healthcare for indigenous families
Traditional Andean healing + natural medicine
Health education and preventive care

Yachay Wasicha Evolution:

Officially registered nursery, primary, and secondary school
Complete educational pathway from childhood through adolescence

Skill Training Academy (Pisaq):

Vocational training in sustainable agriculture, natural building, traditional crafts, leadership
Economic opportunity without migration to cities

Expansion to All 12 Mountain Communities:

Weekly programs in every village
Infrastructure and support
Training indigenous youth in sustainability skills
Youth bringing the model to even more remote communities

Ripple Effect Reaching Thousands of Families

This Is the Model That Changes Everything:
🌱 Community members live regeneratively while serving

🏔️ Retreat guests fund their healing AND indigenous empowerment

🙏 Volunteers practice karma yoga while supporting programs

💚 Service work has sustainable income for the first time

Personal transformation and collective wellbeing become inseparable.

Why This Matters:
Most intentional communities focus inward - creating sustainable living for their members.
Most retreat centers extract value - taking from the local culture while giving little back.
Most nonprofits struggle for funding - dependent on unpredictable donations.

Ancient Apus integrates all three - proving that:

* Sustainable living and indigenous empowerment support each other
* Retreat tourism can be regenerative, not extractive
* Community and service create financial sustainability
* Personal wellbeing and collective transformation are one path

This has never been done before.

We're building on 17 years of trust, relationships, and proven impact - ready to scale exponentially.

How You Can Be Part of This:
💚 Join as a community member - live in Ancient Apus Ecovillage
🏔️ Book a transformational retreat - The Mountain Sanctuary
🙏 Volunteer or join SanAshram - service-based practice
💰 Support through donation or investment - fund programs and infrastructure
🌍 Spread the word - help us reach the right people
🤝 Connect us - to donors, organizations, skilled professionals
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Join the extended family - be part of the movement

There are many ways in. We welcome you.

The Invitation:
This is your chance to be part of something historic, proven, and ready to explode.

Not a dream. Not a startup. A 17-year foundation ready for its next chapter.

* Where service and growth are inseparable.
* Where community and purpose create sustainability.
* Where healing yourself heals entire communities.
* Where ancient wisdom and contemporary innovation honor each other.

Welcome to Amistad Sagrada.
Welcome to Ancient Apus.
Welcome to sacred friendship, sustainable living, and service that transforms thousands.

Welcome home. 🙏✨💚

SanAshram & Volunteer Village: WHERE SERVICE MEETS SPIRITUALITY

Karma Yoga in the Sacred Valley

SanAshram and Volunteer Village are the heart of service-based spiritual practice at Ancient Apus.

This isn't a meditation retreat where you escape the world. This is grounded spirituality - practice expressed through work, stewardship, creativity, and community life.

Two Paths, One Vision:
🙏 SanAshram (The Inner Ring)

Long-term residents (6 months to multi-year)
Deepening into spiritual practice through service
Full integration into Ancient Apus community

🌱 Volunteer Village (The Outer Ring)

Shorter-term immersion (1 week to 6 months)
Hands-on community building and land work
Gateway to deeper involvement
Exploration and contribution

The Practice: Karma Yoga - Meditation in Action
At SanAshram, we believe that:
* Gardening IS spiritual practice.
* Building IS spiritual practice.
* Cooking IS spiritual practice.
* Animal care IS spiritual practice.
* Land stewardship IS spiritual practice.

These aren't support tasks that free you up for "real" practice. This IS the practice.

Everyone rotates through all forms of service. The dishwasher is as essential as the ceremony facilitator.

What You'll Do:

* Permaculture gardens and food production
* Natural building and infrastructure
* Animal care and husbandry
* Water systems and land regeneration

* Teaching at Yachay Wasicha school
* Mountain community projects
* Elder care and family support
* Cultural programs and events

🎨 Creative & Ceremonial:

* Ritual preparation
* Art and music offerings
* Seasonal celebrations
* Sacred space tending

The Philosophy:
Service isn't what you do to earn your keep. Service is the medicine.
Through working with your hands, caring for the land, supporting community, and serving indigenous families, you:

* Ground spiritual insights into embodied practice
* Transform ego and self-centeredness
* Develop humility and presence
* Discover your gifts through contribution
* Build genuine relationships
* Experience interconnection directly

Who Thrives in SanAshram:
People who:

* Seek embodied spirituality, not conceptual understanding
* Value work as practice, not distraction from practice
* Are ready to serve without recognition or special treatment
* Want to live in community and navigate its challenges

THE MOUNTAIN SANCTUARY: WHERE YOUR HEALING HEALS THE WORLD

Center for Healing and Transformation

Imagine a retreat center in Peru's Sacred Valley where your deepest personal transformation directly funds education, healthcare, and empowerment for indigenous families.

This is The Mountain Sanctuary.

And there's nothing else like it - not in the Sacred Valley, possibly not anywhere.

Our Philosophy: Service as Medicine
We believe that before you can offer yourself fully in service to the world, you need balance, wholeness, and connection.

The Mountain Sanctuary helps you:

* Release what's keeping you from your radiant, balanced life
* Allow layers of stress, conditioning, and trauma to settle
* Return to your inherent wholeness
* Discover your unique gifts and calling

Then, naturally, you serve.

Not from obligation, but from overflow.

What You'll Experience:
🌿 Comprehensive Healing Modalities:

Bodywork and somatic therapies
Breathwork and trauma release
Sacred plant medicine ceremonies
Yoga, ecstatic dance, qi gong
Shadow work and integration
Nature immersion in sacred landscapes
Creative expression and ritual
One-on-one therapeutic support

🙏 Direct Service Participation:

Teaching at Yachay Wasicha school in Pisaq
Hands-on projects in mountain villages
Working alongside indigenous families
Genuine cultural exchange and relationship

This isn't a token "visit a village" activity. This is central to your healing journey.

The service component is the most meaningful part of the retreat - not just receiving healing, but contributing authentically to something larger.

What Makes Us Completely Different:

Every other Sacred Valley retreat offers
✓ Healing modalities
✓ Plant medicine
✓ Yoga and breathwork
✓ Beautiful setting

Only The Mountain Sanctuary offers:

1. Service as Core Practice
Direct participation in Amistad Sagrada programs throughout your stay - not optional, not peripheral, but woven into your healing.

2. Built on 17 Years of Trust
We're not recent arrivals capitalizing on Sacred Valley tourism. We have deep, established relationships with indigenous communities - known, loved, and trusted as family.

3. Your Retreat Funds Nonprofit Work
Retreat income directly supports Amistad Sagrada - schools, elder care, mountain community programs, cultural preservation, and future expansion.

4. Grounded in Intentional Community
Part of Ancient Apus ecovillage - facilitators and staff live the values they teach. This is our life, not just our job.

5. True Integration
Healing, service, and culture aren't separate - they're woven together into one transformational journey.

The Financial Breakthrough:
The Mountain Sanctuary creates sustainable income that funds:

* Ancient Apus community operations
* Amistad Sagrada's service programs
* Expansion to all 12 mountain communities
* Sumaq Kawsay: Healing Center for indigenous families
* Long-term infrastructure and growth

For the first time in 17 years, our service work wont depend on donations.

This changes everything.

When you come to The Mountain Sanctuary:

You receive: Deep healing, expert facilitators, comprehensive modalities, integration support, authentic cultural immersion, discovery of your gifts and purpose

Indigenous families receive: Education for children, elder care, weekly programs in mountain villages, infrastructure, cultural preservation, partnership and empowerment

This is regenerative exchange. Sacred reciprocity.

Who The Mountain Sanctuary Is For

You might be called here if you:

* Seek genuine transformation, not just relaxation
* Want your healing to contribute to something larger
* Value authentic cultural connection
* Are ready for deep work - shadow, trauma, integration

WELCOME TO ANCIENT APUS

A New Chapter in a 17-Year Journey

Today marks the beginning of something extraordinary.

After approaching 17 years of serving indigenous communities in Peru's Sacred Valley through our nonprofit Amistad Sagrada, we're ready to share the next evolution of this work:
Ancient Apus - A Revolutionary Ecovillage Built on Service

This isn't just another intentional community. This is a completely integrated ecosystem:

🌱 Ancient Apus Ecovillage - Sustainable living in harmony with the land and Andean wisdom

🏔️ The Mountain Sanctuary - A healing and transformation center where guests fund our nonprofit work

🙏 SanAshram & Volunteer Village - Service-based spiritual practice through karma yoga

💚 Amistad Sagrada - Our 17-year foundation of continuous service to indigenous Quechua communities

How It All Works Together:
The Mountain Sanctuary retreat center creates sustainable income that funds BOTH our ecovillage community AND Amistad Sagrada's service programs - schools, elder care, mountain community projects, and cultural preservation.

For the first time in 17 years, our service work will have sustainable funding.

This is groundbreaking.

No other intentional community in history has been built on this foundation. No other retreat center integrates healing and service this way. No other model proves that personal transformation and collective wellbeing are inseparable.

We're building this in Peru's Sacred Valley - 6 hectares of fertile land with pure mountain water, surrounded by sacred Andean peaks, woven into relationships with 12 indigenous mountain communities.

This is more than an ecovillage. This is a movement.

Over the coming posts, we'll share the details of each element - what we're building, how you can be part of it, and why this matters now.

Welcome to Ancient Apus.
Welcome to sacred friendship, sustainable living, healing transformation, and service that ripples out to thousands.
Welcome home. 🙏✨

ANCIENT APUS ECOVILLAGE

Building Sustainable Community on Sacred Land

Ancient Apus is an intentional ecovillage being created in Peru's Sacred Valley - but it's unlike any other community you've encountered.

What makes us different?

We're not just people seeking to live off-grid or escape the matrix. We're building a thriving residential community on the foundation of 17 years of continuous service to indigenous Quechua families through Amistad Sagrada.

What We're Creating:
📍 The Land: 6 hectares of fertile soil, pure mountain water, epic views of sacred Andean peaks, 45 minutes from Cusco, 25 minutes from Pisaq, in the heart of the Sacred Valley

🏡 Community Land Trust Model: Own your land, build your homestead, be part of a next-generation ecovillage community

🌿 Shared Infrastructure:

* Greenhouses and orchards
* Healing temple and ceremonial spaces
* Kitchen and dining hall for community meals
* School for children
* Natural medicine production facility

💬 Relational Depth - Comprehensive conflict resolution, accountability practices, commitment to growth

🙏 Service-Oriented - Deep connection with local and indigenous communities through Amistad Sagrada, our non-profit organization.

🚫 Substance-Free Living - Clarity and conscious presence (plant medicines used only ceremonially)

But Here's What Really Sets Us Apart:

Ancient Apus isn't an isolated retreat from the world. It's a living model of regenerative relationship - with the land, with each other, and most importantly, with our indigenous neighbors.

We're already family here. After 17 years of showing up through Amistad Sagrada - running schools, supporting elders, building infrastructure in mountain communities, preserving culture - we're woven into the fabric of life in Pisaq and the surrounding villages.

Our ecovillage becomes the sustainable foundation that allows this service work to massively expand.

The Integration:
Community members live regeneratively while:

Participating in Amistad Sagradam The Mountain Sanctuary retreat center and Building relationships with local families and communities.

Service isn't separate from daily life. It IS daily life.

Founding Phase (2026-2027)
This is your rare opportunity to:

Join from the ground up
Shape community culture and governance
Secure land at founding prices
Build alongside the first cohort
Be part of something historic

Who Thrives Here
People seeking:

A life rooted in purpose and connection
Service to something larger than themselves
Sustainable living integrated with spiritual practice
Community honoring both autonomy and shared vision
Deep relationship with earth and indigenous wisdom

Community living requires maturity, flexibility, and genuine commitment. For those called to this path, it offers profound meaning, authentic connection, and alignment with core values.
This Isn't Just Homesteading. This Is Home.

Where we share meals, raise children, celebrate together, work the land, resolve conflicts, support each other through all of life's seasons, and weave our lives with the indigenous families we serve.

Ancient Apus Ecovillage - where sustainable living and sacred service become one integrated life.
