Education internships are opening at RAREC! 📚
Help develop and teach learning experiences that connect science, conservation and community priorities in the Peruvian Amazon.
Our 1–3 month internships are designed for students in education, people with prior teaching experience and educators interested in conservation or education in remote settings. The program is designed for participants who want to develop their knowledge and practical experience in environmental education and community-based work, while contributing to RAREC’s education initiatives.
Alongside planning and delivering classes for children and teenagers, you’ll develop approximately one complete learning module per month, from researching a locally relevant issue to testing activities with students and refining materials through feedback.
You’ll receive training and ongoing mentorship from our education coordinator, with input from RAREC’s biology and animal-care teams and, where appropriate, community members.
Grow as an educator while connecting with local communities and exploring new ways to bring science and conservation into the classroom.
Participants contribute to RAREC’s Education Program through their program fees, which help support the costs of running our education activities. The program fee covers their accommodation, meals, and basic services during their stay, while also helping cover the costs of running and expanding our Education Program.
