In an effort to capture the history and legacy of YWAM in Cusco, and in anticipation of reopening in the near future, this site was created. We would love for you to send us any stories or photos you have, if you have any knowledge or history with YWAM at this location, that you would be happy to share with us. Your help is greatly appreciated as we try to describe the history, milestones, and great images and stories of people who have them to share. 2025 Jan 6-May23, Come one, come all to our bilingual University of the Nations discipleship school in Ica Peru. We are welcoming all and already have many international students booked. This is our 5th DTS since becoming a new pioneering Perú base. Come enjoy our culture, climate, hospitality and love and contribute to the ministries we serve in this needy area of Perú.

YWAM Cusco, closed 2019, to be open soon?

YWAM Cusco (JUCUM Cusco) has a long history back the the 1990’s at least. There are many YWAMers who have graduated from a DTS course there that are now scattered all over the world doing God’s work. I know of one teacher from the 1990’s that is in Spain doing a great amount of public speaking and teaching. Another is a pastor over many Cuscanean churches in the mountains of Peru. A third is an accountant in Arequipa, running 3 casa hogars with nearly 60 children in care. And these are three that I know, and I am a rather recent graduate of the last DTS held in Cusco, in 2018.

Cusco is a beautiful city and it will assuredly have another YWAM base soon. Sadly, in 2019, the base up there closed. This is the 2nd closure, having been open this time for about 7 years but closed for 20 years between the first base founding. We would pray that we can find leadership soon to make this base thrive again in this tourist mecca of Peru, where over 500,000 people live and 2 million tourist visit each year. There is a great base of missionaries also in Cusco (many of them YWAMers, many not) who would love to see YWAM return.

We would love to honor any inquiries from YWAM bases around the world to help us re-open this base. We need staffing to do it. Please contact us and we will tell you all that you need to know. We run a new base on the coast in Ica, but all of the YWAM bases in Peru, Ecuador, Columbia and throughout South and Central America, would love to see Cusco return as a functioning thriving YWAM base.
