Recently, Runa Simi held a Bible-based literacy workshop in Santa Rosa, district of Chicmo, where men and women from rural Quechua-speaking communities took another step toward learning to read in their own language. Through our Bible-based literacy program, participants are gaining the skills to read God’s Word for themselves and grow in their faith.

Last week, Carmen traveled to the community of Huancasancos, Ayacucho, where she led a Level 1 Literacy Workshop to prepare new literacy promoters. The participants were very happy and grateful to receive their Bible-based literacy materials, which will equip them to teach reading and writing through God’s Word in their own communities.

June–July Ministry Update 🇵🇪

We’re grateful for all God has done over the past two months through Samuel Saccsara and the ministry.

📖 Through the SALT Leadership Ministry, Samuel participated in the equipping of native Quechua leaders through biblical training in Chosica and in two seminary courses in Ayacucho, strengthening pastors and ministry leaders with sound biblical teaching.

📻 He also partnered with GALCOM Canada to distribute Quechua audio Bible radios in the communities of Uchuraqay, Kinrapa, Kayra Mayu, and Catalinayuq. These solar-powered devices allow families to hear God’s Word in their own language, helping both adults and children grow in their faith.

Please pray for the Quechua people—that they would know God’s love and hear His voice in the language they understand. May we also value and preserve the Quechua language and culture, remembering that Jesus’ heart has always been for those the world often forgets.

Follow-up and coordination work was carried out for the literacy project with the brothers and sisters of Calvary Church in Huancasancos.

During the visit, Carmen taught the lessons “What Does God Say About Your Life?” (Imanintaq Dios Kawsakuynikimanta) and “What Does God Say About Difficulties in Marriage?” (Imanintaq Dios Casado Vidapi Sasachakuymanta).

At the conclusion of the teaching, they had the opportunity to spend time with the church and study these biblical lessons together. The Lord used His Word to minister to them, and following the teaching, they began taking steps toward reconciliation.

Bible Study in Uchuhuancaray, Apurímac 🇵🇪

On July 5, Bertha, one of our Bible-based literacy teachers, had the privilege of leading a Bible study on The Fruit of the Spirit in the rural Quechua-speaking village of Uchuhuancaray, high in the Andes of Apurímac.

In communities like Uchuhuancaray, where many families rely on farming and raising livestock, the local church is a vital source of hope and encouragement. Together they spent time in God’s Word, praying, encouraging one another, and reflecting on what it means to faithfully bear the fruit of the Spirit as they serve their congregations.

Please pray that these leaders will continue to grow in Christlike character and faithfully shepherd the people God has entrusted to their care. 🌱🙏
