Care, not kill.
Tomorrow afternoon, your Member of Parliament (MP) will vote on Bill C-218: The Right to Recover Act.
On March 17, 2027, Canadians whose only medical condition is a mental illness become eligible for medical death, unless Parliament acts now and continues to pass this bill through 2nd Reading.
Think about what that says to someone in the darkest stretch of their life. It says our public healthcare system has run out of answers, and instead of walking toward recovery, it opens the door to death.
That is giving up.
No Canadian should hear it from the health care system meant to help us recover!
MP Tamara Jansen's bill would stop that expansion for good. What people in despair need is care, time and hope, and that is what our health care system owes them.
