NEXT CLUB MEETING - Thursday, August 27th

oin Club Rotario de Boquete (Boquete Rotary Club) at our next club meeting on Thursday, August 27th as we rank future projects ideas from the last club meeting!

So many new ideas for projects! We have put together a list based on last meeting’s brainstorm. Help us evaluate and prioritize them.

The goal: Create a list of high-impact projects Club Rotario can do in the next two years.

We meet at Noon at Malu Cafe & Bakery on the 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month.

CLUB MEETING RECAP – Thursday, August 13th

On Thursday, August 13th, Club Rotario de Boquete, held its regular club meeting at Malu at Noon. However, instead of a guest speaker giving a presentation, we held a Project “Speed Dating” process.

Each person was given a table number (1 – 4) and each table number corresponded with one or more of the Rotary 7 areas of focus. Each table talked about how to expand current projects as well as give ideas for future projects. Those ideas are being collated and will be shared with the club as well as those guests who were at the meeting.

ShelterBox is a Rotary International & Boquete Rotary Club partner. ShelterBox works with disaster-affected communities to provide the emergency shelter, essential items, and training needed to support people in the long process of rebuilding their lives.

SCHOLARSHIP UPDATE – COURSEWORK COMPLETE!

Congratulations Kervin!

Kervin, one of the 17 scholarship students sponsored by Club Rotario de Boquete (Boquete Rotary Club) has completed all his coursework and is scheduled to fully graduate soon! Kervin is studying Emergency Medicine at UNACHI and received his stethoscope and reflective tape previously but needed to complete additional thesis/coursework to receive his bachelor’s degree.

Kervin has been active in the community during his studies (a requirement for all scholarship students) including helping at the Caldera Community Holiday Party, where nearly 200 people attended and Boquete Rotary Club provided coloring supplies, assistance and snacks for the children.

Kervin has sent the attached video “Thank You” to the club and we want to share it with the community, because these scholarships do not happen in a vacuum. It takes countless hours from the Scholarship Committee, fundraising, and support of Rotary leadership to make it all happen.

NEXT CLUB MEETING - August 13th

Join Club Rotario de Boquete (Boquete Rotary Club) at our next club meeting on Thursday, August 13rd as we do Project Speed Dating. Meetings start at Noon at Malu Restaurant.

Bring your project dreams to our club meeting this Thursday! We'll brainstorm using the Rotary 7 Areas of Focus as inspiration. Come for fun and participation, and if you're planning on lunch, please come early to dine before the activity. See you there!

YOU MADE IT HAPPEN - NEW CASA HOGAR TRISKER PROJECT

Thanks to your generosity at Club Rotario de Boquete fundraisers, we have broken ground to create a new playground for the 40+ children living at Casa Hogar Trisker. The old playground equipment was broken and had no shade or protection from rain.

Already begun – Phase 1, the new all-weather cover will be finished this month

Next Up – New expanded playground equipment and a new play surface

NEXT CLUB MEETING - Thursday, July 23rd @ Noon

oin Club Rotario de Boquete (Boquete Rotary Club) at our next club meeting on Thursday, July 23rd as we learn about one of Rotary’s global partners, ShelterBox with our very own Dave Nichols (aka DisasterDave).

ShelterBox has been very involved in the disaster response in Venezuela (2026) and Jamaica (2025). Dave will will talk about what ShelterBox is doing and how the Boquete community can help.

Boquete Rotary Club meets on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of each month at Noon at Malu Restaurant. All are welcome to join us!

NEXT CLUB MEETING- Thursday, July 9th @ Noon

Join Club Rotario de Boquete (Boquete Rotary Club) for our first club meeting of the new Rotary Year. We will talk about an upcoming district bike ride to promote Rotary's fight against Polio. We will also have updates on our new global grant to combat HIV & Cervical Cancer.
