Our high school teachers and advisories brought creativity, teamwork and plenty of flair to the G11/12 ATL Games with the Couture Challenge! Working together to design and create their own couture pieces, our advisories put the IB Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills into action, from creative thinking and communication to collaboration, organisation and reflection. The result? Bold ideas, creative problem-solving and some truly fabulous wearable art! Because when you put ATL skills into practice, learning can look pretty spectacular.

As part of ABA’s commitment to community outreach and service learning, the student-led REVE Club had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Early Intervention Center for a meaningful day of connection, creativity and community.

Together, students took part in activities including cupcake decorating and fingerprint art, creating joyful moments, sharing smiles and making memories along the way. More importantly, the experience gave our students an opportunity to connect with others, build understanding and contribute to our wider community.

Visits like these remind us that service is not simply about giving back. It is about building relationships, creating a sense of belonging and learning from one another.

We are grateful to the Early Intervention Center for welcoming our students and for the opportunity to support and learn from our wider community.

Today, our IB DP Arabic students had the opportunity to connect with students from Al-Junaid International Islamic School in Singapore through the Virtual Arab Cultural Exchange Programme. It provided an authentic opportunity for students to use Arabic as a means of communication, while exploring a range of topics including hobbies, language, culture, customs and traditions. Through meaningful conversations, students shared perspectives, developed their communication skills and discovered both similarities and differences between their experiences. It was wonderful to see them communicate confidently in the target language, engage with different perspectives and build intercultural understanding. A valuable experience that reflects the IB commitment to international-mindedness, intercultural understanding and learning through meaningful global connections.

Today, we were delighted to welcome Sarah Al-Maawali, Inclusive Learning Strategist at Inspire Educational Consultancy, who led an interactive assembly with our Grades 5–8 students titled Building Inclusive Communities: What Makes the Difference?

What does it really mean to be included? Does fairness always mean treating everyone the same? And how can the words we use affect others?

Through thought-provoking scenarios and discussions, students explored how inclusion goes beyond kindness. They considered the importance of choice and belonging, respecting individual needs, and using language thoughtfully.

These conversations are an important part of shaping our school culture and living The ABA Way. By listening to one another, respecting different perspectives and recognising the role we each play in creating an inclusive community, we continue to build a place where everyone can feel valued and belong.

Together, we Inspire. Empower. Explore.

At ABA, mathematics is about more than learning facts and procedures. Through our Concept-Based Inquiry (CBI) Math approach, students build conceptual understanding by exploring, questioning, modelling, discussing and applying mathematical ideas to real-world situations. The approach encourages students to see themselves as confident mathematicians, develop a growth mindset and use mathematical reasoning to solve problems. Aligned with the IB PYP and a range of international curricula, CBI Math helps students build strong foundations in number, operations, measurement, patterns, shape, statistics and probability while developing the skills to transfer their understanding to new situations.

At ABA Oman International School, our Early Childhood programme for children aged 3 to 6 is grounded in the belief that play is the foundation of learning. Through purposeful play and exploration, children develop essential skills, knowledge and understanding, guided by experienced Early Childhood teachers and teaching assistants.

We nurture children’s natural curiosity, encouraging them to explore, question and make sense of themselves and the world around them. Our approach is aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), providing a strong foundation for continued learning and success in the elementary years.

“What does peace mean to you?” 🕊️

We asked our Elementary students what peace means to them, and their answers are a beautiful reminder of how children see the world. Thoughtful, hopeful and sometimes wonderfully simple, their words reflect an innocence, optimism and belief in a better world that is truly inspiring. As we mark Peace Day, we invite you to listen to their voices and reflect on what peace means to you. Because sometimes, the simplest words carry the most powerful message.

Celebrating Peace, Unity and Belonging at ABA 🕊️
Peace Day at ABA was a wonderful celebration of peace, love and harmony with students across all sections of the school coming together through a series of meaningful assemblies and performances. From music and dance to thoughtful messages and creative presentations, our students shared powerful reminders that peace begins with how we treat one another, how we listen, and how we celebrate our differences. Across the school, students came together to reflect on what it means to build a community where everyone feels valued, respected and included. A beautiful day of learning, connection and student voice, reminding us that while we may come from different places and cultures, we are stronger together.
