Oman Paralympic Committee

Oman Paralympic Committee OPC was established by the Ministry of Sports in July 2010 (Decree 2010/167) Oman has only ever been represented by male athletes and none has ever won a medal.

OPC is a Non Government Organisation that was established in order to support Oman's Paralympic Team in their preparation to compete in regional and international events. Oman made its Paralympic Games début at the 1988 Summer Paralympics in Seoul, competing in track & field, table tennis, weightlifting & wheelchair fencing. The country has participated in every subsequent edition of the Summer Pa

ralympics but has never entered the Winter Paralympics. Its delegations have got smaller over time from seven athletes in 1988, to four in 1992, three in 1996, one in 2000, two in 2004 and one in 2008. Oman's Paralympic Team competed in the first Asian Paralympic Games - in Guangzhou, China in December 2010. Most recently, Oman's Paralympic Team attended and participated in the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Oman sent two qualifying athletes who took part in powerlifting and field athletics, achieving good rankings in their respective classes. OPC welcomes support from Private Sector Organisations to help with the provision of facilities, transport, equipment and training etc, for more information or to discuss how you can help, please contact [email protected]
