During her recent visit to Oman, Carla Haddad Mardini, UNICEF's Global Director of Private Fundraising and Partnerships, sat down with Hon. Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, Founder and Chairperson of Dar Al Atta Association Oman, for an open dialogue on what drives a lifetime of giving — and the growing role of women in philanthropy across the region.
Maryam shared the vision behind Dar Al Atta's work: an approach that pairs immediate support with empowerment, sustainability, and innovation, rooted in a belief that lasting change requires long-term investment in people. It's a philosophy UNICEF Oman deeply shares.

A meaningful 24 hours in Oman with Carla Haddad Mardini, Director of UNICEF Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division.
During her visit, Carla met with partners across Oman’s humanitarian and development ecosystem, including Dar Al Atta’a, the Oman Charitable Organization, the Foreign Ministry of Oman, and members other leaders and changemakers.
From thoughtful discussions to meaningful exchanges, the visit highlighted the power of partnership in advancing shared goals for children and communities.

Every child deserves a safe place to play 🤍
Parenting is shaped by the environments around families. In too many communities, safe play is shrinking as public spaces become unsafe, inaccessible, or unhealthy — especially in dense urban settings and humanitarian contexts. Without safe spaces, even the most engaged caregivers can struggle to support a child’s right to play, learn, and thrive. 🌍🛝
اللعب الآمن حق لكل طفل 🤍
تتأثر التربية بالبيئة المحيطة بالأسر. وفي كثير من المجتمعات، أصبحت مساحات اللعب الآمنة تتقلص بسبب غياب الأماكن الآمنة أو سهولة الوصول إليها أو ملاءمتها للأطفال، خاصة في المدن المزدحمة ومناطق الأزمات الإنسانية. وبدون هذه المساحات، يواجه حتى أكثر الأهالي اهتمامًا صعوبة في دعم حق الأطفال في اللعب والنمو والتعلّم. 🌍🛝
