We are thinking of our friends at Southland A & P, hopefully the perpetrators are caught soon!

Post show week is busy enough without the committee having to deal with this.

After such a fantastic show yesterday, the rain today had already dampened spirits with our equestrian events being cancelled. Sadly, things took an even more disappointing turn overnight when the secretary’s office was broken into.

We are absolutely gutted. Money was stolen and the office was ransacked, left in a terrible mess, with result sheets scrambled, ribbons thrown into a heap, and the whole place turned upside down.

After the huge amount of work that goes into running the show, it’s incredibly disheartening to see this happen. We have been in touch with Police. If anyone saw anything suspicious around Donovan Park overnight, please get in touch or contact Police with reference number 260308/6703 👮🏻

📣 ATTENTION EQUESTRIAN COMPETITORS 🐎

Unfortunately, due to the very poor weather forecast for tomorrow, all equestrian events scheduled for the show have been cancelled.

While this is disappointing for everyone involved, the safety of our riders & horses must come first. With the forecast conditions, it’s also important that we protect the ground and facilities to prevent unnecessary damage.

We truly appreciate the effort competitors, families, and supporters put into preparing for the show and thank you for your understanding. 🌧️

Working Bee at the Grounds 1pm this Friday! Feel free to pop down to help our incredible committee take down the damaged stalls which were damaged in the October storm, bring any tools you have which could be useful (hammers, chainsaws etc). If you'd like more info pm this page.

Today we had our annual committee trip 👏🏼 we’re very lucky to have a large committee, it’s hard to get a date which suits everyone but this was today’s muster at the Templeton Flax Mill Heritage Museum on our way home from lunch at the Aparima Tavern. Like all Wyndham bus trips it ended at our local Three Rivers Hotel!

Thanks to everyone for giving up their Sunday… where will we go next year?

Huge thanks to our committee & Three Rivers Contracting Ltd for getting our grounds looking very sharp with short notice.
