💜COME ALONG AND HELP US PAINT OUR COMMUNITY BOOK NOOK! 💜

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coromandel is excited to be bringing our community book nook to life at the **Mercury Bay Museum tomorrow!** 🎨

Bring the kids along from **10:30am on Saturday 10 October** to help us paint our book nook in our signature purple! 💜

We’re also excited to add some beautiful pink hearts to the side, designed by our colouring competition winner, Ana-Liisa! 💗

A huge thank you to everyone who has helped make this project possible. We can’t wait to see our little book nook come to life and create a special spot for our community to take a book, leave a book, and share the love of reading!📖✨

Everyone is welcome, so bring the kids, let them paint and come be part of something special!

💜DO YOU HAVE ONE HOUR A WEEK TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE? 💜

We’re looking for amazing volunteers across the Coromandel to become mentors and help make a lasting difference in the life of a local child or young person.

We currently have children and young people waiting for a mentor in:

📍 Whangamatā
📍 Tairua
📍 Whitianga & Mercury Bay
📍 Coromandel Town
📍 Thames & surrounding areas

You don’t need to be a superhero, a teacher or have special qualifications. You just need to be reliable, caring, a good listener and willing to give your time.

Sometimes it’s as simple as kicking a ball around, going for a walk, grabbing an ice cream, doing some art, playing a game or just having someone there who listens.

One hour a week. One meaningful relationship. One young person who knows they matter.

We provide the training, support and guidance — you provide your time and your willingness to make a difference.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to give something back to my community,” this could be your opportunity.

💜 WHAT A NIGHT 💜

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along to our fundraiser at Buffalo Beach Club last week. It was such a fantastic evening, and we are incredibly grateful for the support.

A massive thank you to Buffalo Beach Club - Dash and their amazing staff for hosting us and helping make the night such a success, and to for the delicious food!

A very special thank you to Lou for raising money for us and for being brave enough to have his haircut on the night! 😂✂️ It certainly provided plenty of laughs, good fun and entertainment for everyone!

Thank you also to Choccy, our fantastic MC, for keeping the night running and creating such a great atmosphere, and to all of our amazing volunteers who gave their time and energy to help make the event happen. We couldn't have done it without you! 💜

🧡 A Little Token. A BIG Impact!🧡

We’re so excited to announce that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coromandel has been selected for Z Whitianga’s Good in the Hood campaign!🎉

From **18 August – 14 September 2026**, Z customers will receive an orange token when they visit the station. Simply pop your token into the Big Brothers Big Sisters box to vote for us! 🗳️🧡

Each Z station is supporting four local community groups, with **$5,000 being shared between the groups based on the number of votes they receive.

So every little token really can make a BIG difference! 💛

Your support will help us connect more young people across the Coromandel with positive, long-term mentors.
