While I barely managed to take pics beyond set up on the day, the energy created and felt (Whatawhata Spring Fiesta - everyone who had a hand in it) have imprinted memories to at least fuel the desire to do it all over again - one day 🤪🤗
We know so much more than we did before, thank you for your patience and tolerance of our ‘learning the ropes’ - it’s never been done before, here on these specific grounds so naturally there were curves to learn from.
Sandra Prescott and I, Leonie Verran want to especially thank and acknowledge the team directly behind us - Lindsay Amner Darren Maxwell Carl Jackson Tim Frampton Ashley Skinner - Maxwell, Stu Stone who made the green spaces sparkle and supporters (mahi) Jacqui Keelan and John Roszak, Tim’s friends who are marshals for life as well as our whaanau from the Whatawhata rugby club Brian te Wao Erana Kahukiwa and the Whatawhata wolves 💙💙who turned up hard for whatawhata community to awhi on the day. I almost forgot to mention our awesome Connor Maxwell who looked after the bouncy castle with Carl. Anything we ask of him, he’ll do in a heartbeat x100. Thanks for raising such a conscientious boy and Darren 💫💥 Couldn’t have done it without any of you!!
Big massive ups to the Community Centre for lending us the bouncy castle for koha - we hope to work together for mutual benefit again, we would love to return the support when needed.
Also want to acknowledge the constant support and love from Genevieve Rorke at The Village Cafe - your heart for this place is beautiful, we are so grateful.
Thank you stall holders for trusting us to provide a space for your mahi, and to bring the people. We know more for next time and now the people know where to come!! You are all incredibly talented and our wish is to do justice to your craft. Stunning!!
That’s all from us for now but we’ll keep this page open and available for future comms and for you to share photos, ideas, and all the rest.
Ngaa mihi nunui kia koutou katoa,
Sandra and Leonie 🌸
