A huge thank you to the Northland Woodturners & Woodworkers Club, whose members have once again crafted and donated beautiful handmade wig stands for local people affected by cancer. As part of their annual challenge, club members put their craftsmanship to the test, creating stunning wooden stands that will now be gifted to patients through Daffodil House.

Northland Regional Manager Charli Timms had the tough job of judging this year's competition and was blown away by the creativity and skill on display.

Thank you to everyone involved 💛

It’s National Wills Month

September is National Wills Month — a time that encourages Kiwis to make sure they have an up to date Will that clearly reflects their wishes.

Having a Will ensures your intentions are protected. It’s particularly important if you:

• Have KiwiSaver or life insurance
• Own a home
• Are married or in a relationship
• Have children
• Are planning for retirement
• Have health concerns
• Would like to leave a gift to a charity

Without a valid Will, the process of distributing your assets may take longer and may not reflect what you intended.

Cancer Society partners with Footprint, New Zealand’s trusted online Will writing platform

Right Now - You Can Write or update your Will for free

Activate your Footprint package by 30 September to be eligible for Footprint’s Wills Month prize draws, including a Canopy Camping voucher and weekly prizes.

If you are considering a gift in your Will — big or small — your kindness will make a lasting difference for future generations.

And that's a wrap on Daffodil Day 2026 💛

What an incredible few days it’s been. From dedicated street appeal volunteers collecting across Northland to community fundraisers, morning teas, raffles, golf days, vintage car events, yellow outfits and so much more, you showed up for people affected by cancer.

On behalf of everyone at Cancer Society Northland, thank you for your generosity and support. Every dollar raised helps ensure local people with cancer and their whānau can access the care, information and support they need, so no one has to face cancer alone.

Northland, thank you for turning yellow and standing with your community. We couldn’t do it without you. 💛
