Lupton House

The Lupton House annual trip was today, each year the residents choose what we do. This year we did something different and visited both Kelly Tarltons and Auckland Zoo.

A wonderful fun day and the rain stayed away until we were catching the bus home!

As always, we were driven to and from with great care by the team at Northland Bus Charters.

Thinking about boarding options for your daughter at Lupton House, Whangārei Girls' High School? 🌸

Did you know the Ministry of Education offers Boarding Allowances to help families cover boarding hostel costs for Year 9–13 students?

There are two main types of support:

🌿 Access Barrier Allowance ($4,000 / year): For families living in isolated areas where daily travel to the nearest appropriate secondary school isn't practical due to distance, travel times, or road conditions.

🌿 Multiple Barrier Allowance ($8,500 / year for hostel boarding): For students experiencing significant environmental, social, or educational barriers who would benefit from a supportive boarding hostel environment. (Requires endorsement from a referrer such as a teacher, principal, counsellor, social worker, or kāumatua).

📌 Note: The allowance is a contribution toward fees and does not cover total boarding costs.
