🌿 A Heartfelt Thank You to Maria Nicol 🌿

A huge thank you to Maria Nicol for speaking at last week’s Hatea U3A meeting! Her passion for advocating for people living with dementia was truly inspiring. Maria shared her personal journey caring for her parents, along with her professional insights into dementia awareness, brain health, and practical ways we can better support those affected. She also helped us understand the signs of dementia—what to look out for, and what’s simply a normal part of being a human (like putting your keys in the fridge!).

Through her work at Dignifed Minds, Maria provides dementia coaching, training, and workshops to help organisations and caregivers develop the skills and confidence to support people living with dementia. Her knowledge, experience, and compassionate approach gave us all a greater understanding of how we can create more inclusive and supportive environments.

We are so grateful for your time, Maria, and for the important work you do. 💙
