To our rangatahi, always remember your whakapapa, it is sacred, it is a taonga. You are connected to your tupuna who travelled before you and will always journey with you. No matter where life takes you, you always belong - your roots will always keep you grounded. You are resilient, know your worth and know you have a purpose and a place in this world. Your seed nurtured, has everything it needs to grow and flourish. Stand strong, stand proud.

A gentle reminder - please understand that we are a small team. We will get back to text messages, phone calls and emails ASAP, though this is not always possible on the same day due to the high number of young people we are supporting.

While we do our best to prioritize urgent needs, please be advised there is currently an approx 3week wait for seeing nurse Rachel. Kindly phone reception 09 972 7248 to book appointments as Rachel is busy seeing patients and does not have capacity to respond to calls/texts regarding the booking of appointments.

While we strive to action promptly, please allow 3 working days if requesting repeat prescriptions to allow any required phone consultation follow ups etc that may be required before prescriptions can be actioned.

We are unable to take calls/respond outside of hours. For out of hours support, please contact Health Line for medical advice, 1737 for free text and free to call counsellors, White Cross or in an emergency, the Emergency Department.

As always, we encourage everyone to be enrolled and actively engaged with a GP practice and are happy to support with this as needed.

our rangatahi show up, real, raw & honest. Let's take away the stigma and shame about being vulnerable. Veing vulnerable can be hard, but it can also be very freeing and healing...being vulnerable is part of being human and sharing your vulnerability is 1 of life's greatest strengths!

WYS is stoked to share the news that the newest kid on the block arrived safe and sound last month. Big shout out to youth worker Nicole and her partner Tom and daughter Lizzie who last month welcomed baby Tommy to the clan! Congrats guys!!

Tomorrow is BANDANNA DAY 2026!!

Our friends over at Canteen Aotearoa support many of our rangatahi to connect, share the tough stuff, and get a break from cancer. They support with free counseling, peer events, and therapeutic programs for rangatahi impacted by a cancer journey they have been on either themselves, with a sibling or a parent/caregiver.

Pop on into see our team at Whangarei Youth Space to purchase your bandanna! No cash needed, just bring your phone to scan the QR code!

Kia ora whānau! Please note that appointments with Nurse Rachel are in high demand currently and there is an approximate 2week wait for appointments. We will always try and prioritise if there is an urgent health need as able, or work with you to find another solution.

To avoid disappointment, please phone our amazing receptionist Jess (09 972 7248) to book appointments as Rachel is unable to respond to calls and texts for appointments given the current demand.

If you are unable to attend a booked appointment, please let us know asap so that we can offer this to another rangatahi ☺️
