Rotary Club of Whangarei City

Rotary Club of Whangarei City Service club fund raising for our local and International Community The Rotary opportunities are endless. We're a different type of club.

If you are keen to help, be involved, are out to achieve results, action minded and able to laugh and enjoy having fun with such a diverse bunch of people, then maybe this is the club for you. A few things the Rotary International Organisation has started or been involved with are:
Plunket, Duffy Books in Homes, Polio Eradication, Milk in Schools, Kids Can, Trees for Survival, Shelter Boxes, Exchanges, Scholarships...

We strive to provide service to those in need. We are not very traditional. We think outside the square, and are passionate about helping others and meeting new people aged between 18 years old and 70 years young. Rotary presents so many opportunities, you are responsible for how much you do. International or on a local level, the possibilities are endless. Youth exchanges, friendship and cultural exchanges, aid work, leadership training and opportunities for all ages - and numerous feel good projects. Main focuses are community service priorities, peace and conflict resolution, disease prevention, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, education and literacy and economic and community development. If you have read this far well done! Get in touch and we'll see you at the next meeting. We would love to have you join our Rotary Family of 1.2 million members world wide.

All good things must come to an end... The Rotary Club of Whangarei City is handing in its chapter after years of dedicated service to the Whangarei community. It is sad but also fulfilling for the members who dedicated much of their precious time in the service of the community. Thank you all for the support to the club and the members. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

The Club members were out on Daffodil Day last Friday in the Whangarei C*D for a good cause. The costumes were designed to be noticed and did it's job well; in sayin that, our teams pulled off the look too.

This Saturday, the Rotary Club of Whangarei City was in action with a Quick & Quiet (Q&Q) painting project at the iconic Golden Church on Kamo Road in Whangarei. The Op Shop building run by the Church was in much need of a makeover and the team delivered. The Op shop also supports the local community and in much need of children and baby clothes so if you have good ones that can be re-used, drop it off to these good people.

Whangarei City Rotary Club changeover was on the 25th of June at the Parua Bay Tavern. Braving the rain and slips, the members enjoyed a hearty lunch and shared stories and projects in the past year. 2023-2024 President Kevan Summerlee took over the reigns and already has some cool 'Quick & Quiet' projects lined up. Below are some snaps taken by our home musician Andy

Quick & Quiet project: A couple of members turned up to this home for a second time to assist the family fix up bits and pieces around the humble abode. The front entrance used to get all the rain leaving the family wearing wet shoes the day after and not a nice feeling on a winter morning. A very thankful smile left on the owners face ๐Ÿ™‚
