Nau mai e tātou mā, kia whakanui ngātahitia i te tau hou Māori. Hihiaua Cultural Centre presents our suite of programmes to celebrate the rising of Puanga, marking the incoming of te tau hou Māori. This year our programmes are lead by the theme of Kotahitanga 🤍

We come from different whakapapa, different journeys, and different ways of knowing, each of us a distinct thread. Yet when Puanga appears on the horizon, it calls us together. It offers us a chance to weave our many threads into something unbreakable, something none of us could create alone. And when we weave together for a shared vision, for community, for taiao, for mokopuna, we reclaim something powerful that can energise and inspire us for the year ahead. This Puanga-Matariki, we encourage our community to add their thread to our vision for unity - Ma te aho kotahi, e kore e tūkinotia.
