📒IMPORTANT NOTICE📒
Over the past three months, our organisation has faced an extremely challenging period. Unfortunately, some rumours and misinformation have also been circulating, so we feel it is important to provide you with accurate and factual information.
Due to privacy and legal requirements, we cannot share full details. However, we can confirm that in early May, our Support Coordinator and Secretary experienced a serious health issue, which ultimately led to the end of her employment with the organisation on 5 August.
During this time, we worked very hard offering support to our colleague and have been working tirelessly to protect and preserve the organisation that, for more than 25 years, has provided invaluable support — and, in many cases, been a lifeline — for grandparents in our community.
At present, we have only a small team of volunteers keeping things running. Given the complexity of the situation and the challenges of navigating employment matters, we engaged an experienced labour lawyer on 18 June to guide us through the process.
Unfortunately, as a result of recent events, we have lost some important information needed to operate effectively. As both an incorporated society and a registered charity, we have strict legal obligations to meet — not only to government agencies but also to the wonderful organisations who support us financially.
Because of the significant workload we now face, our ability to respond promptly to phone calls and text messages is limited. If you require urgent assistance, please email:
📧 [email protected] or [email protected]
We have a recovery plan in place and are confident that, within the next couple of months, we will be back on track. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and ongoing support during this time.
