Rotary Club of Whanganui had their potato growing competition, judging this evening out at our beautiful Botanical Garden Reserve.
We meet for fellowship followed by tea then the judging. Thank you to Springvale Garden Center for the wonderful prizes that were handed out tonight, also to the Rotary members who took part in this fun event. To our young helper who sorted out the potatoes from the buckets many thanks. Your were amazing. 🥇
Fun night by all 👏

This evening, I was invited to attend a 90th birthday celebration of CCS Disability Action Whanganui. It was indeed an honour to present my speech on the history of Rotary and the Crippled Children Society as it was then known. Rotary Whanganui sponsored our local branch in 1935, and our commitment to supporting this work has been maintained and demonstrated every year since. As we celebrate 90 years of CCS Disability Action we are reminded of what can happen when people come together – when compassion meets action, and service becomes a shared purpose. The partnership between Rotary and CCS Disability Action is a testament to what ordinary people can achieve when united by extraordinary vision.
On behalf of Rotary, congratulations – and may the next 90 years be filled with the same spirit of hope, service, and humanity that started it all.

Good afternoon,
I wish to say a massive thank you to our members who took part in the City Mission food drive on Thursday evening, and members and friends of Rotary, who joined in with the quiz on Friday evening helping to raise funds for the Life Education Trust. Thank you. Both events were really enjoyable and also helping our community.😊
