Last night we headed out to Ara Puke Forest Park for a night walk. It was a great night, great walk, with great tunes to keep us going. And yes that is 2 of us dancing beside the Kahuterawa Stream ❤️🖤

On Tuesday night we took some inspiration from Moot and made toys for the animals at the SPCA. We made a number of dog chew toys out of old material (there may be some Moot togas in the mix) and cat toys from toilet rolls. We will donate these to our local SPCA centre with another group in the area who is also doing this activity 🖤❤️

ANZAC Services
Today we had members of the Crew attend services across the Manawatū. We had members attend the Feilding, Rongotea, and Palmerston North services with the groups they are Kaiārahi (leaders) in.

Lest we forget ❤️🖤

Sushi night 🍣
Last night we had a night learning how to make sushi! We make chicken and tuna rolls with fillings to suit our palates. Once we had run out of rice, we did some taste testing of other foods from around the world. Some members were blind folded to guess the country the food was from. It was a great night with some Kahoots to finish it off 🖤❤️

Check out the awesome activities one of our local Scout Groups gets up to!

Milson is an amazing group who always let us use their hall for our nights. They have Keas through to Scouts providing activities and adventures for tamariki aged 5 to 14!

We were proud to see Asanti awarded the Eastman Sheild at Moot! ❤️🖤

The Eastman Sheild is given to an individual who demonstrates Moot spirit. Asanti is kind and friendly, remembering conversations she has had with people the year before at the previous Moot! We are all very proud of her and very happy to see her awarded it!

While at Moot we were very proud to have our Crew Leader James receive his BP Award!

James was a key person helping to get the Crew back up and running in 2023. He navigated the challenges of coming into a Crew with dwindling numbers and limited access to things like bank accounts.

As well as all the work he puts into the Crew he has been a Kaiārahi for the past 5 years. He begin his Kaiārahi journey in Whanganui while driving an hour to and from Palmy each week to be mentored by a Kaiārahi at a local group. Once moving to Palmy, he continued to volunteer in Whanganui, driving the hour each way to help start the Venturer Unit.

Our Crew wouldn't be where it is without James and we are very proud of everything he has achieved 🖤❤️

Over Easter weekend Jess, James, Asanti, Austin and Dazza attended the 83rd NZ Rover Moot! 🖤❤️

Throughout the weekend the Crew did many great activities. Friday was spent on service with our members cleaning, sanding, and making dog toys for the SPCA.

Saturday was tours day! Jess spent the day exploring Zealandia and the Wellington Zoo (seeing some very cool animals). While Jess was looking at animals, the other did high ropes, go karting, and paintball!

Sunday was the final day of activities. We started the day with shooting trophy, competing against the others in various challenges. The crew managed to get the fastest time in the tarp flip - just 7.37 seconds! After shooting trophy was tug of war! We had 2 Stewart teams - mens and mixed. James also competed in a siblings round with younger vs. older siblings competing for bragging rights. We finished off the day with formal dinner seeing some amazing awards presented.

We had an awesome weekend seeing friends from across the country, trying new things, and having a great time.

Stay tuned for posts about our incredible Rovers who received awards at Moot!
