We’re hosting another information session for artists interested in current creative opportunities at Te Puna Hapori which will become a powerful, community led space grounded in connection, wellbeing and belonging.

We’re inviting all artists, emerging and established, to come and explore how your creative vision could be integrated across the site. From bold statements to subtle storytelling, this is an opportunity to imagine how art can live, breathe and belong within these spaces.

If you’re curious, inspired, or ready to contribute to a project that will serve our community for generations to come, we would love to see you there.

Sun, smiles, and big dreams!

Not only were we blessed with stunning weather, but also with so many of our community members who joined us for our open day on Saturday to see what’s taking shape. There were lots of questions, kōrero, laughs, and hiding from the sun after the trees 😅

A huge mihi to all who came through. We loved hearing your feedback and sharing some of the little things (that are actually big things to us) that have gone in to the development of our wellness hub so far.

It’s been over a year since our last artist information evening at Te Puna Hapori, and so much has progressed. The courthouse build is now in full swing with more buildings and creative opportunities on the horizon and we would love as many of you as possible to part of it!

Join us to catch up on what’s new and explore how local creativity can continue to shape this special place.

We’re opening the gates again and inviting everyone to come along to our Te Puna Hapori Open Day this December!

Our last open day in February was an amazing success, full of connection, kōrero, and community energy, and we can’t wait to do it again. Come and see what’s happening onsite, meet the people behind the project, and learn more about the vision for our wellness hub for the community, by the community.

We’re also calling out to local NGOs, community groups, and services who would like to be part of the day. If your mahi supports the wellbeing of our people — whether or not you’ll eventually be based onsite — we’d love to have you join us with an informational stall or activity.

Te Puna Hapori is all about working together for collective wellbeing, and this open day is a chance to celebrate that spirit of collaboration.

Wow, it's been a while!! We have been so busy that staying updated on here fell to the side for a bit but we're back with Te Matau who spent some time exploring art and what art onsite may mean.

We're creating a wellness hub for the Whanganui community that reflects our community – and that includes the art! When we shared our briefs, we heard from some people that it felt like the call out was just for “real artists.” But let us be clear: if you’re part of this community and you have an idea, big or small, we want to hear from you.

Whether you're a painter, carver, designer, weaver, tinkerer, poet, gardener, or just have a creative spark you’d like to explore, get in touch and ask for the first set of art integration briefs. Let’s make Te Puna Hapori a true reflection of us.
