Junior Surfing Tonight!!!!!!!!!! Final session of the season.

The weather is nice with a small wave. While the last day of term won't suit everyone, it is warmer now than the first week of term two. We hope you can make it.

We will start as close to 5pm as possible and finish up with some sausages on the BBQ just after 6pm.

We are all go with the Repco Bech Hop Comp tomorrow, this time for the groms. Divisions will be Under 14, 12 and 10 for boys and girls. Free for all members. All entrants will go in the draw for a Panasonic TV.

Registration from 8am. Heats start at 9am. The surf should be 1-2ft with light wind and a 10:30am low tide.

Unfortunately Junior Surfing is cancelled tonight everyone. The surf had doubled in size by lunch time today and is supposed to double in size again tonight with a building 3m swell.

We haven't had a good run and the tropic cyclone coming down next week looks like it will generate big swells again for Thursday.

We are working on some other options to finish the season and may even look at a fun grom comp and 'Have a Go' on the Sunday of Beach Hop if that is of interest to everyone?

UPDATE - the surf is building and with the low tide and strong onshore winds, junior surfing is now cancelled for tonight. Apologies for the late notice.

Junior Surfing is back for the year. We will kick off tonight - 5:30pm at Access 8. Spread the word.

The conditions aren't ideal but with us missing last Thursday (Waitangi weekend), it will be great to get everyone back in the water.

Hi team, while the sun is shinning and it is a stunning day, the surf is still big with strong currents across the beach and Junior Surfing is cancelled tonight.

We are super bummed but safety is important and there are two strong rips either side of Access 8. With school finished and all the festive season commitments, we are going to wait until term 1 to start up Junior Surfing again.

We know that we only had three sessions this term and we will want to make up for that in the new year.

We look forward to seeing all those with their own gear shredding the waves over the summer break.
