We’re excited to let you know that the latest edition of Where from here | He Ara Whakamua – Mid-North Island has just arrived, thanks to The Eldernet Group.

This trusted, free resource is designed to help older people, and their families navigate the ageing journey with greater clarity and confidence. It covers everything from:

· accessing home and community support

· understanding legal and financial considerations

· comparing retirement village options

· transitioning into aged residential care

· planning for end-of-life care

It’s packed with practical advice, checklists, real-life scenarios, and up-to-date information — no wonder it’s often called the ‘older person’s bible’.

As one of Eastern Bay of Plenty's distribution points, we’re proud to make this valuable book available to our local community.

Come see us to collect your free copy today – while stocks last! We are located at the Lightning Hub above KiwiBank on the Strand Whakatane. Or download a digital copy for free at https://www.eldernet.co.nz/where-from-here.

Our Story

Alzheimers Society Eastern Bay of Plenty, supports people with dementia and their whanau, to live well in their own homes. It was established over thirty years ago, and provides information, home visits, zoom and phone support, carer support and connection groups, education sessions, activity groups, a volunteer buddy and support service, all within a caring team culture.

Our aim is for people living with dementia and their families, to be empowered to live the kind of lives they want to live, retaining their sense of place and value in their community, their whanau, and the world. We are privileged to work with our families in identifying their care goals and helping them to achieve them.
