Even under the low-energy phase of Tīrea o Ariroa in the Māramataka, our rangatahi pushed through and completed their projects with determination.

In this workshop, collaborating with I Have a Dream Charitable Trust NZ , we explored creating wall hangers entirely from salvaged pallet wood. The rangatahi designed their own pieces, measured, cut, sanded, and assembled the hooks onto their bases by hand.

There’s always something special about taking home something you created yourself!

Big energy with the rangatahi tāne today!

We explored the pūrākau of Māui and Mahuika, diving into the kōrero of how fire came into the world and the lessons hidden within the story.

They even made a hearty steak stew from scratch together. The rest of the day was all action!

That balance of mātauranga, movement, Kai, brotherhood, and banter is where the magic happens.

Strong start to the week with our Year 10 Dreamers back for another term!

This wānanga we got hands-on, building bird houses from salvaged pallet wood, explored the maramataka, and shared the pūrākau of Tāne Mahuta, Tāne Hokahoka, and how the humble kiwi came to be one of Aotearoa’s most loved manu.

Wrapped it all up with some beautiful kai 🍽️

Our Second kaupapa wānanga of Term 2 we were fortunate enough to host our rangatahi tāne group from I Have A Dream.

Mean to see the lads come out of their shells straight away.

Kicked off with some whanaungatanga games🏃🏽‍♂️‍➡️, then out on the whenua learning fire building 🪵 and safety 🔥, a bit of kai/food science 🍴, and closed with a solid-as round of reflection🌱.
