⚡💚 A Step Towards a More Resilient Buller

We're excited to see our new generator arrive at the Westport station.

Funded and supplied by Hato Hone St John, this investment will help strengthen our ability to support the Buller community during emergencies and unexpected disruptions.

While the generator has arrived, we're still fundraising to help cover the installation costs and bring this important project to completion.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraising journey so far. Together, we're helping ensure our community remains resilient when it matters most.

The Waka Ora Health Shuttle is a koha (donation) based community service, delivered by volunteers, that transports people to health and wellbeing related appointments, and then brings them home again.

Ever wondered what happens when someone presses one of our medical alarms? 🔔

It sets off a chain of care, fast. Our monitoring team (Telecare) are on 24/7 and work quickly. The team will call back and talk through the alarm to check what’s going on and confirm if help is needed.

If it is, the team have different ways to get the right support for the situation. This is sometimes an ambulance, but could also be a paramedic, other emergency service, or expert medical advice over the phone.
