What an incredible evening celebrating pride, purpose and people.

The Tawa Pride in Work Awards 2026 recognised 18 remarkable people from across our community. These awards are not about job titles. They celebrate people who can be relied upon, support their colleagues, do the right thing when nobody is watching, and quietly make their workplaces better.

Pride in work is not simply about the job you do. It is about how you choose to do it. Our nominees were recognised because they bring commitment, integrity and kindness to their work every day, often without seeking recognition.

We also heard from Simon Stone, a Tawa local who turned years of frustration with hearing protection in the building industry into Mufftech - a company with global impact. His story was truly inspiring.

Congratulations to all 18 nominees and award recipients. Thank you for the example you set and the difference you make to your colleagues, customers, organisations and the wider Tawa community.

People matter. Connection matters. Integrity matters. Kindness matters. And taking pride in a job well done matter.

Congratulations to everyone celebrated at the Tawa Pride in Work Awards 2026!

Warning: this meeting is about to get real! 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

With the general election around the corner, we're bringing in the local candidates to give you, and them a chance to showcase what they and their parties stand for.

And, let's just say our moderator is absolutely epic.

Someone who knows the ins and outs of politics like the back of their hand.

Want to know who it is? Stay tuned for the big reveal this Friday! 🤔

Independent candidate, Greg O’Connor has been elected unopposed in Takapū/Northern General Ward by-election.

Wellington City Council received one nomination during the Takapū/Northern General Ward by-election nominations period, from Mr Greg O’Connor.

As of 12 noon, 1 October 2026, nominations have closed and the number of nominations received did not exceed the number of vacancies. Greg O’Connor has therefore been declared elected unopposed as Councillor for the Takapū/Northern General Ward.

The seat, one of three in the ward, was vacated following the passing of Councillor Tony Randle in August this year.

Mr O’Connor will be sworn-in as a City Councillor at Te Kaunihera o Pōneke Council meeting at 9.30am on Thursday 22 October 2026.
