Join us on Wednesday 19th November at 7.30pm at St Hilda’s Church. A safe space to practise talking to a small group of supportive people. If you get nervous at the thought of speaking then this is the ideal group to help you tame the butterflies 🦋🦋🦋. The topic for the evening is theme parks. I LOVE theme parks and rollercoasters, the clip is me at Thorpe Park in the Uk earlier this year. At the end of the clip you will see me, I’m wearing bright pink top💕Looking forward to the evening. Island Bay members welcome you to their Humorous and Table Topic contest WEDNESDAY 29th OCTOBER 7.30pm, St Hilda’s Church. It is some of our members first time, please come and support them and be inspired to give Toastmasters a try, it really is a wonderful education programme. The humorous contest is a speech competition where participants deliver a funny speech, 5-7 minutes choosing any theme. The table topics contest is an impromptu speech competition where contestants are given the same topic, and without any preparation they deliver a 1.5-2 minute speech.

Our supportive group is for people who are wanting to become confident at speaking up for themselves in meetings, or walking in to a room and finding your voice to speak to strangers. Well done to us all at ISLAND BAY TOASTMASTERS for gaining Select Distinguished status for 2024/25. The hard working committee Mark, Vernice, Liz, Karen, Kathy and Richard with the leadership of their bubbly and motivating President Corrina kept our members excited about being part of Toastmasters and motivated to keep working hard on their pathway.
