Across New Zealand, NAWIC branches came together for a week of events celebrating women in construction, building connections and exploring what it means to create a sector where women belong and thrive.

Held during the week around Suffrage Day in September, We Belong brought people together through speaker panels, networking and behind the scenes site visits.

Connecting the legacy of the women who fought for change in 1893 with 30 years of NAWIC and the women shaping our sector today.

NAWIC Waikato recently toured the Victoria Street McDonald's site. The building is to be one of a kind in New Zealand with a bespoke McDonald's layout and facade.

NAWIC Canterbury recently visited the Ōmōkihi Library to learn more about this exciting community project.

With a strong focus on sustainability, material reuse, energy efficiency, and future flexibility, it was fantastic to see the progress being made ahead of its opening later this year.

What a fantastic evening we had at our Annual Quiz Night at the beginning of the month! NAWIC Waikato, the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors, and Quantity Surveying Emerging Professionals were thrilled to bring together industry colleagues, friends, and peers for a night filled with general knowledge, friendly competition, plenty of laughs, and valuable networking.

It was great to see so many teams come along and embrace the quiz spirit, with some impressive knowledge on display and plenty of good-natured banter throughout the evening. Congratulations to all of our prize winners, and especially to our overall champions who earned this year's bragging rights! 1st place: Asphalt Queens, 2nd place: The Raskills and 3rd place: Glazed & Confused

Thank you to Wayward Pigeon for hosting us and providing such a great venue, and to our Quizmaster for keeping the energy high and the questions challenging.

It was inspiring to hear career stories from across generations and reflect on how opportunities for women have evolved over time. A fantastic evening of connection, learning, and shared experiences.

What an incredible opportunity to go behind the scenes at Simplicity Living’s Waiatarua development!

Back In June, NAWIC Auckland members joined us for an exclusive site tour of the 330-home build-to-rent development, currently under construction.

A huge thank you to the Simplicity Living and Holmes Aus & NZ teams for sharing their insights into the project, taking us through the site and giving our members a first-hand look at this exciting development.

It was a fantastic opportunity to learn, ask questions and connect with others across the construction industry, with plenty of great conversations continuing over networking after the tour.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a great NAWIC event. We love creating opportunities for our members to get out on site, learn from industry leaders and build connections.
