Last month, our NAWIC Waikato community came together with Master Builders for a meaningful Pink Ribbon Breakfast in support of breast cancer research and awareness, held at The Canopy Café at University of Waikato.
We were privileged to hear from by Dr Ian Campbell from the Breast Cancer Research Trust. As a founding member and internationally recognised clinical researcher, Ian has led more than 35 global breast cancer trials. His presentation highlighted the vital, evidence‑based work the Trust undertakes to improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment outcomes for people across New Zealand.
We then heard from Tony Kavanagh, Director of Property Development & Infrastructure, who shared an insightful update on the New Zealand Graduate School of Medicine development - a project set to shape the future of medical education in Aotearoa.
Thank you to everyone who joined us - dressed in pink, connecting over breakfast canapés and hot coffee, and contributing to conversations that truly matter. Your support helps drive research, awareness, and hope.
