Victoria University of Wellington Students’ Association (VUWSA) exists to help VUW students during their time at university. Stress Free Study Week is here!!!

Join us next week for some free coffee and curry as we support you through study week. Breakfast will be available from 9am - 11:30am. Lunch will be generally available from 11:30am - 1:30pm (times may vary depending on when the curry arrives and runs out).

We'll be at the main 3 campuses, so come say hey at:

Pipitea - Rutherford House Mezzanine

We at VUWSA stand strongly against this bill, it is divisive and harmful to our communities. It's nothing more then a distraction from what is going to be a poorly received budget announcement.

This Thursday we will be walking to Parliament to respond to the 2026 Budget.

At 5:45 there will be student specific protest at the cenotaph.

At 6pm we'll be joining unions and community groups in a joint response on Parliament lawns, lead by the CTU and VUWSA.

At 6:30 we'll making our way to the Backbencher, kai will be provided but buy you're own drinks!

Not only is this government scrapping Fees Free and making it significantly harder for us to study, they're also cutting 9000 public sector jobs, so we won't even have jobs when we graduates. They don't care about students and they don't care about young people.

Haere mai, haere mai - show this government what we think! 💪 💪

the 2026 budget is gutting Fees Free and trying to dress it up as fiscal responsibility. it’s not. it’s pulling the ladder up behind an entire generation of students already drowning in rent, groceries, and a tertiary system stretched to breaking point.

education isn’t a luxury. it isn’t a handout. it’s the bare minimum a country owes its young people if it wants a future worth showing up for.

we’re not taking this one quietly.
