The Family Space

Happy Thursday lovely people!

As mentioned in the last few weeks at Music Space, our lovely Anne Neal is away today at her daughters graduation and we wish her a wonderful time of celebration with her family.

The substitute that Anne has used is not available so we will be having a normal playgroup today from 9.30am to 11.30am.

We will put some instruments out in the second half and may/may not do a bit of singing but regardless, we will have a good time together and look forward to Anne being back next week - we are truly blessed to have someone as passionate as her running the Music Space hour each week.

Due to the severe weather conditions we are facing in Wellington at this time, there will be NO TUESDAY PLAYGROUP happening tomorrow.

Please let your networks know, especially if you know they do not check Facebook.

Please stay safe, don't travel unless you have to and keep an eye out for your friends and neighbours around you.

Kia ora Family Space Community

Hope you have all been trucking along OK for the last 2 weeks of the holiday period.

How about that weather - I hope you and yours are safe and well and made it through all the downpours.

We are restarting our playgroups this week with our Monday playgroup at 10am tomorrow.

Please remember to bring a piece of fruit and your biggest smile along if you are able to come tomorrow with your little one/s.

Here's hoping the rain behaves itself and we are good to go.

Look forward to seeing some of you today at our Monday Playgroup from 10am to 12pm.

As mentioned, this is our last week of Term 1 before the school holidays begin. As per usual, we will be closed for that 2 week period reopening on Monday 20th April.

We wish you all a blessed and safe Easter with family and friends.

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS ARE NEARLY HERE....

Just a reminder that next week, beginning Monday 30th March is the last week of Term 1 for all our Family Space playgroups.

We will then be closed as per normal, for the two week school holiday period and reopening on Monday 20th April.

We wish you all a safe and blessed Easter with your family and friends.

THANK YOU FROM OUR FAMILY SPACE COMMUNITY TO OUR GATEWAY CHURCH FAMILY FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge and THANK our Gateway Church family for all their support for the ongoing work of the Family Space and our Sunshade Project.

First and foremost, THANK YOU for all your prayers and encouragement for the Family Space - greatly appreciated.

Thank you to the staff - Phil, Beth, Ben, and the volunteers who help with (among other things) admin, maintenance, birthday bookings, working bees, gardening, baking, compliance issues, fixing toys and resources, health and safety support and taking care of our facility.

Special THANKS also to our Trustees - Phil Coates, Rosemary Sutton and Chrissie Edwards for your time and support behind the scenes.

A big THANK YOU to those from our Gateway church family that are regular financial supporters of the Family Space and who have been so generous to us. Your support helps us to keep doing what we do - we are grateful.

PROJECT SUNSHADE IS FINALLY COMPLETED!

Kia ora everyone

GREAT NEWS - we have finally finished our Sunshade installation project and are now good to go! Despite many set backs with the "special" Wellington weather over the last few seasons and the need to do additional unplanned work - we have reached the end of this process and could not be happier.

Please see attached photos showing you the 2 sunshades that we now have up in our back playground area. This will ensure our little ones are sun safe during those warmer seasons and will also allow us a little outdoor time on those light rainy days!

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us achieve this goal and would like to especially THANK the following people and groups:

OUR FAMILY SPACE COMMUNITY for all our fundraising efforts around the walkathon last year and those who gave so generously.
THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION provided us with a generous grant to get things started
GROCOTT TRUST provided us with grants
EASTER SUBURBS SPORTS TRUST (ESST) also provided us with a grant.
AN ANONYMOUS SPONSOR who very generously gifted a large koha towards this project to ensure our little ones get what they need and to support the work of the Family Space.
