TE PAPA TUPU 2026 | Submission Guide ✍🏽

If this sounds like you, Te Papa Tupu could be the writers’ development programme for you!

Te Papa Tupu is open to Māori writers who have written a manuscript, are living in Aotearoa and are committed to attending, learning and working towards their dream of becoming published.

This is an opportunity to develop your writing alongside other Māori writers, with support and guidance from experienced industry experts.

To get the most out of the programme, applicants should submit a full first draft of a manuscript. Make sure you read the full terms and conditions on our website before submitting your application.
