The Mechanical Tempest Assisted D.I.Y. Bicycle Rescue - mechanicaltempest.co.nz Mechanical Tempest is a non-profit, registered charity and incorporated society based in Wellington. b.

We are a self-organised community bike workshop made of volunteers who value:
Education
Empowerment
Sustainability

Inclusion, diversity & non-discriminatory practices
Accessibility
Collaborative problem solving & skill-sharing
Non-commercial, non-profit generating activities

Cooperation
Enabling actions
The purposes of the Society are to:

a. To teach any member of society how to

repair their bicycle and to assist those who do not
have a bicycle to select one from a store of donated bicycles and to repair that bicycle. To reuse and recycle bicycles and their components where practical in order to minimise waste
and enable the above purpose
c. Do anything necessary or helpful to the above purposes.

Bike Swap and Show & Shine 🎉

Save the date! 4th of July, 10am to 1pm at Clyde Quay school hall.

Got bike parts you'd like to sell? Or a project that's missing a few key parts? Then the Bike Swap is for you! Book a table, dig through your garage, and free yourself from those parts you really don't need anymore.

Got a cool bike but don't want to sell it? Well you're in luck, we're also hosting a Show & Shine! We'll have awards for "Best in Show," "Best Vibes," and "People's Choice."

Alongside the main events, we'll also have a photo booth to immortalise your bike, coffee supplied by Coffee Supreme , and a sausage sizzle. All proceeds will go to support the good work done by our friends at the TheMechanicalTempest

Here at Ye Olde Mechanical Tempest we accumulate some pretty interesting bicycle parts. These BSA pedals are super cool vintage style. One has a bit of bearing play but they would look great on your 10 speed, fixie or city bike. This might be the start of Weird Parts Wednesday.
We will be closed over the Christmas/NY break from 19th Dec to 5th Jan.
