🚐 Spectroom PLAY ZONE sensory support is on the move!

A $10,750 NZCT grant has helped SPECTROOM Charitable Trust purchase and fit out a mobile sensory trailer, bringing support to disabled and neurodiverse people in communities across Auckland. The quiet, climate-controlled space will give people a safe place to take a break from busy community events.

Sterling, 10, a SPECTROOM client, says, “Sometimes places can get really loud and busy and I need somewhere quiet to have a break. A sensory trailer would give kids like me somewhere safe to calm down before going back and joining in again. I think it would help lots of kids who find busy places hard.”

NZCT can fund this community good thanks to the fundraising partnerships we share with local hospitality venues via their responsible gaming rooms.

🏀 Sunset Primary School - Tō te Rā is looking flash!

A $3,300 NZCT grant has provided new sports singlets and T-shirts, helping more tamariki represent the school with pride and confidence. The uniforms are already being put through their paces in everything from basketball and netball to Rippa Rugby, hockey and football.

Student Huta, 10, says, “I like putting on the sports uniforms. Our school is flash.”

This is another example of how our responsible gambling fundraising partnership with Mo’s Bar is delivering fantastic community outcomes in Rotorua.

In our most recent funding round we awarded $5,345,223 in grants to 200 recipients for a wide range of community services, including sports, rescue services, youth development, the arts and cultural activities - congratulations to all our recipients!

🏉💚 Rugby league is back in Kawerau thanks to $30,720 NZCT grant!

Putauaki Stags Rugby League Club has new uniforms and playing equipment to help get its newly re-established club up and running safely for players of all ages.

Krystal Nuku, Trustee, and Juniors Coordinator, says “Ngā mihi nui to NZCT for their funding support. This season marks a significant milestone for our club, as our tamariki, wāhine, and tāne teams take the field proudly wearing symbols of our maunga and our awa deeply connecting us to the whenua we represent. This moment reflects more than just sport, it is a celebration of identity, unity, and whakapapa. As we move forward together, we stand as one ‘KOTAHITANGA’ grounded in our shared values and strengthened by our collective journey.”

🐎 Big things are jumping into place at Motueka Pony Club!

Thanks to a $60,000 NZCT grant, the club is building a new cross-country course and purchasing uniforms!

Club President Rebecca Palmer says, “This funding will make a significant difference to our club and the wider equestrian community. It gives riders a dedicated place to practise, progress and prepare for competition, while helping us bring more equestrian activity to Motueka."

This investment is made possible through NZCT's partnership with Hotel Motueka, whose gaming room funds community good across the region.

🎵 More music, more creativity, more opportunities Te Aratai College !

Thanks to a $15k NZCT grant, they have added new musical instruments and equipment to support more than 600 students each year, from Year 7 and 8 music classes right through to NCEA.

Olivia S, Year 12 student says, “Having access to better instruments and equipment allows for more choices for performances and allows for more creativity in our compositions.”

NZCT Grant Helps Bring Strength Training to More Ākonga

A new weights trailer is making strength and conditioning training more accessible for Orewa College ākonga, thanks to a generous grant from New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) , and their continued support of Orewa College.

The funding is supported by Stables Sports Bar & TAB, The Wade Hotel, Couttas Bar, The Crown Sports Bar Orewa and Grill House Buffet.

Sporting Pathways students have already used the equipment. Its portable setup allows the gear to move where it is needed, giving more students opportunities to take part.

The grant supports equitable access for ākonga who might not otherwise experience this type of equipment, extending the benefits of strength training across the kura.

🎨 Helping Creativity Flourish at Māpura Studios

A $2,000 NZCT grant awarded to Panacea Arts Charitable Trust is helping provide accessible arts education for adults with diverse support needs, giving artists the time, space, materials, and support to develop their creativity and confidence.

Artist John Puhara says, “Māpura is the best thing - nothing can be better, every Monday I’m very happy. Everything is good I’m so happy to come here.”
