📣 A new way to book our community centre spaces is coming!

On 1 November 2026, Wellington City Council community centre bookings will move to our online booking system Bookable, making it easier to:

✅ find community centres and spaces

✅ check availability
✅ submit and manage booking requests
✅ pay online

✅ view booking details, invoices and receipts.

👉 New booking requirement

From 1 November, if you need to book a space at one of our community centres, you’ll need a Bookable account to book the space online. If you manage multiple groups or organisations, you’ll need to create an account for each.

👉 What you can do now

While our Wellington City Council operated community centre spaces are not yet available to view or book in Bookable, you can create your account now so you’re ready to make bookings from 1 November – just visit bookable.wellington.govt.nz and create an individual or organisation account.

Do you have bookings taking place on or after 1 November? Please create your account now so we can link your booking to you when it moves into Bookable. We'll contact affected customers with information on how to access and manage their booking in the new system in the coming weeks.

Until 1 November, you can continue using your community centre’s current booking process. If you have any questions or need support, please contact the community centre you usually book through.

Kia ora koutou! Nau mai haere mai ki Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori! The theme of Māori Language Week this year is Te Reo Towns. Here are a few phrases for you:
Nō hea koe - where are you from?
He aha te ingoa Māori o tō tāone? What's the Māori name of your town?
Ko Pukehuia te ingoa Māori o Newlands - Pukehuia is the Māori name for Newlands!
