ONLY TWO WEEKS UNTIL TOURNAMENT 2026!

The countdown is on!

Is your uniform looking smart and ready? Have you been practising your kata and getting excited for the big day?

This tournament is about much more than medals. It is a chance to celebrate Karate and Kobudo across the Wellington region, come together as a community, share our spirit and enjoy an unforgettable day.

And there is plenty to look forward to! Our black belts have promised some amazing demonstrations, and the venue looks incredible.

Whether this is your first tournament or you have competed before, come ready to have fun, support each other and show everyone what you can do.

I bought these $20 stone jars from Kmart to use as Nigiri-game (gripping jars) which are traditional ceramic or weighted containers used in Okinawan karate supplementary conditioning (hojo undo).

It is the final week to get your tournament entry forms to Sensei!
If you don't have an entry form, you can send an email to [email protected] (DMs or texts are also fine) with the following information.

* Your full name.
* Your current grade.
* Your club name.

Answer the questions below with a yes or no.

* Individual karate kata?
* Team karate kata?
* Individual kobudo kata?
* Team kobudo kata?
* Support/modified Kata required?
* Junior division, up to 15 years old?

Tournament is on Saturday 29th August 2026 at the Lower Hutt Events Centre, 30c Laings Road, Lower Hutt. The doors open at 9am. The tournament starts at 10am.

It is going to be an awesome day!
