- Online Education session: Sick Day Management -
Diabetes NZ Auckland Youth are hosting an education session in conjunction with the Starship diabetes paediatric team on managing 'sick days'.

This session is for people living with, or parents/carers of a person living with type 1 diabetes. Winter is fast approaching, and the inevitable higher rates of illness. When a person living with type 1 diabetes becomes unwell this can create issues with blood glucose control and overall diabetes management, especially if the person is out of routine eating and/or vomiting.

To learn more about how to manage these times, we welcome Claudia Swan (Paediatric Endocrinologist) and Barishna Zareh (Diabetes Nurse Specialist) to facilitate this educational session.

When: 7pm, Tuesday 26th May
Where: Online (a Zoom link will be sent to all registrants the day prior to the event)
Who: This event is open to all around the motu/country that live with or manage type 1 diabetes.
Cost: Free (or Koha donation)

Summer Picnic Series - Avalon Park
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us a couple of weeks ago at Avalon Park.
48 people across 12 families attended the afternoon!
We couldn't have asked for a better occasion (or weather), and it was such a joy seeing everyone come together and connect 😊

Summer Picnic Series - Aotea Lagoon

Thanks to the families who braved the initial grey and blustery conditions and joined us at the park today!
The sun came out and the wind eventually died down 😊 Always great to see parents and children catching up alongside new connections being made.

Next picnic catch up will be March 15 from 1pm, at Avalon Park, Lower Hutt.
