We are a group of local Chinese migrants, most of which who are first or second generation settlers in the Wellington region. We all enjoy our life in New Zealand but are also proud of our culture and identity, and are very keen on embracing and promoting our values as a Chinese community. Although we have only formally established our organisation earlier this year (2015), members of our group ha

ve been meeting regularly for cultural activities as early as 2006, and have performed for the local Chinese community on some occasions and events. In 2007, members were honoured to attend the official ceremony of the launch of 2008 Beijing Olympic campaign in New Zealand at Parliament. Since then, we have attended number of important events, including the celebration of 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between New Zealand and China at Parliament in 2012. Our most recent event has been “The Night of Cheongsam”, which was successfully hosted by our organisation to honour the traditional dress styles of Ancient and Modern China. Since then, we have garnered a lot of interest in our organisation, and have been able to share our cultural experiences with the New Zealand community.
