Have you seen Wellington Museum’s latest exhibition Arohanui, Carmen xx?

We’re excited to join in celebrating the life and legacy of Carmen Rupe through two craft activations this term.

Tamariki are invited to fill a whetū with their wishes, hopes and aspirations for the future, and add their handprint to our sparkling kākahu, which will become a permanent feature in our space for all to enjoy.

To get your school holidays sorted, we're giving away a family pass to see 'But Why, Dad?'. This live music and comedy show at Circa Theatre is perfect for ages 4-12 (and their grown-ups).

Two dads. Thousands of questions. And a robot who can answer EVERYTHING. 'But Why, Dad?' invites the audience to be part of the fun — clapping, singing, and even shouting out their own big questions, which are cleverly woven into the action.

All of Te Matapihi ki te Ao Nui, including Nōku te Ao Capital E, will be closed on Friday 10 July for the Matariki public holiday.

Besides Friday, the play space will be open Monday-Saturday throughout the school holidays, 9.30am-3.30pm.

See you tomorrow for a jam-packed start to the school holidays!

This Saturday we have Matariki Live! Our OnTV Open Day with special guests MetService on level 2. We'll also have our free drop-in craft on the Mezzanine level where you can make a Maramataka journal.

The play space will be open throughout the school holidays Monday-Saturday EXCEPT for Friday 10 July when all of Te Matapihi ki te Ao Nui will be closed for the public holiday.

We’re excited to bring screenprinting back for the July School Holidays 🎨👕

At He puna ora, he wai ora, tamariki and rangatahi learn about the importance of conserving our moana with Wellington City Libraries , before heading up to the makerspace. There, artist Tayla Hartemink teaches them to turn their big ideas into printed art on tees and totes.
