As the many posts and reels will tell you, we had a great time at the Gathering 2026. Thank you to everyone who contributed and attended.

As part of the final keynote, we were excited to release the newly redesigned Circle of Mana atahanga. Massive mihi to Thomas Hunt & our Pou Whakamanawa Tāneora Ryall.

If you or your organisation use the Circle, we welcome you to embrace this new atahanga whist respecting its Creative Commons rights.

📣A few final pānui:

Parking:
If you are driving to the Gathering there will be limited parking on-site at Maraeroa Marae. If you are staying on site, please park in the front carpark (closest to Warspite Ave). If you are travelling in each day, please park across the road at Waitangirua Mall (entrance off Niagara Street and Warspite Ave). Parking at Waitangirua Mall is free and there are no time restrictions. There will be a Praxis team member giving directions on Monday morning at the entrance to the Marae.

Pōwhiri:
The Praxis Gathering will start with a pōwhiri at 11am on Monday 8th June at Maraeroa Marae (216 Warspite Avenue, Waitangirua, Porirua). Please meet in the front carpark, closest to the road at 10.30am for a briefing. Appropriate clothing is long dark skirt for wāhine and long dark trousers for tāne. If you would like to contribute a small amount to the koha you’re more than welcome too. Our waiata will be He Hōnore. Please leave all gear in your vehicles during the pōwhiri.

After the pōwhiri the registration desk will be open to collect your welcome pack and then we will move into lunch. The first workshops kick off at 1.30pm Monday afternoon.

🎤 Introducing the 2026 Gathering MCs! 🎉

Tali Aitofi – a proud Porirua local, a long-time member of the Praxis whānau. From being a Praxis student himself back in 2013, to Praxis team member for many years now. He’s an outstanding facilitator of Praxis workshops - whether it’s Code of Ethics or Inclusive Practice training, you’ll know exactly what I mean if you’ve had the privilege of being in one of his sessions. With a gift of connecting with people and creating spaces of inclusion and belonging. A strong advocate who stands up for others...and keep an eye out for his well-known eye roll. 🎉

Ebony Ngatoko - she embodies strength and service. A proud Porirua local and a powerhouse in the community. Ebony is a team leader at Praxis Education in Kenepuru (PEK), where she works alongside rangatahi inspiring students and the team daily. An incredible youth worker, a dedicated fitness instructor, a mum, and a friend to many. Ebony also serves her community through the Salvation Army Porirua (one of the Gathering venues this year), always showing up with compassion, energy, and purpose. We’d be lost without her at Praxis. 🎉

🎬✨ It is our great privilege to be screening Alofa on Monday night at the Gathering. A deeply personal and moving documentary that follows Andre Afamasaga as he navigates the intersection of faith, culture, and sexual identity. ❤️🌺

We are also honoured to have Andre join us earlier in the day, where he will open our Gathering with a keynote over lunch.

The day will conclude with this special screening, followed by a Q&A session with Andre. 🙏🏽✨
