A wee fundraiser by the fantastic people at WORD this Saturday 10 October 8am-12pm at the main entrance selling WORD first aid kits - kits specifically designed for when things don't go to plan on a MTB ride. Peak Flow is OPEN! The second stage of the Peak Flow refurbishment has now been completed and is now open for your riding pleasure. Thanks to Wellington City Council and Trails Wellington for their support to make the project a reality and Andrew from Total Trail Solutions for his skill at putting the flow back into Peak Flow. Enjoy!

PSA: Possum Baitline is closed for some TLC. Ricky from Slack Trails will be making some 'adjustments' to make the climb slightly easier for mere mortals, principally widening corners and fixing drainage. Note also that the lower section of Leaping Lizard is open again but with Possum Baitline closed, the only exit option, if riding to the bottom, is via Bail Out.

PSA: The lower section of Leaping Lizard from the intersection with Super Kanuka is closed for bridge repairs. Note that there is no exit from the bottom of Leaping Lizard.

As part of a social action to contribute to a sustainable future, Outdoor Education students from Onslow College have been working to upgrade the upper section of Smokin to bring it into line with the new national guidelines for grade 3 trails. If you have ridden Smokin recently, could you please provide any feedback for the students by completing this survey, it will give them some valuable data they can use to help measure the impact of their action. Spring is here and there's change in the air. The Mākara Peak Supporters AGM is coming up on October 6. Three of our hard-working committee members are standing down this year, including our Treasurer, after many years of contribution.

So we have three spots available. Are you keen to help Mākara Peak succeed? Do you have accountant-y skills? Fundraising or marketing talents? A passion for conservation? PSA: Trail closures on Sunday 6 September 9am-1pm'ish for a Trail Running event as part of the Barefoot XTrail Series.

Trails closed while event is on:
Koru, Sally Alley, Nikau Valley, Missing Link, Possum Bait Line, Leaping Lizard, Upper Leaping Lizard, Aratihi, T4 Trail to the Top, Vertigo, Trickle Falls, Peak Flow, Star Fish, 3 Brothers, 3 Brothers part 2, Smokin, Lazy Fern.

For the safety of everyone, please respect trail closures and directions from marshals. The organisers will open trails progressively as soon as possible after use.
