This Sunday Kai Hapori Whānui ki garden is open at Linden Community Centre. As part of Wellington City Council's community garden open Sundays 🪴
We'll be there from 1 pm - 3 pm, we'll have afternoon tea, along with lots of beautiful herbs which are ready to be shared: Oregano, Lemon, Balm, & Thai Basil to name a few 🌿
We also have a little herb guidebook to giveaway, thanks to our wonderful volunteer garden expert, Bronwyn who not only takes care of the garden but provides suggestions for the herbs and a fantastic recipe!

p.s if you can't make it Sunday the booklets will be available at the community centre next week.

Our third garden bed at Linden Community Centre is done and filled with beautiful herbs that are ready to be picked: coriander, basil, thyme, sage, rosemary, chili, chives, oregano, parsley, and more 🪴🌿 and there are so many veggies in the other two garden beds 🥬
Feel free to help yourself to what you need - the garden is there for everyone to enjoy😊

It was great to have the IDEA Services team helping out at the Kai Hapori Whānui ki Linden community garden yesterday🌿 They did a great job of weeding, planting, & watering the garden!

The garden has some lovely veggies growing so remember to pop along and grab some greens for dinner😀

Keep an eye out for our 3rd garden bed which we hope to have in place in the next month.

We are really happy to have Damo's beautiful memorial seat in place at The Linden Community Centre.
Damo played a huge part in the setup of our community garden and this lovely tribute was put in place by his wife and his three daughters❤️.
Thanks to Ian and the wonderful team at Porirua MenzShed who built the seat.

Damo will always be remembered here😊

If you are free on Tuesday (4th) afternoon come and join us at Linden Community Centre for afternoon tea ☕🍪. There will be activities such as gardening, games for the kids, inside and outside (fingers crossed for sunshine), and a chance to meet some people from the local community😀.
The wonderful Take10arvos rangatahi will be baking some treats too - that alone is not to be missed!

School Holiday Program

Join us at Linden Community Centre on Tuesday, July 4th, for a fantastic afternoon tea event.

We've got a lot of exciting activities lined up, including fun parties, games near the garden, and an open mic for all the talented kids out there!

Best of all, it's FREE for everyone! So bring your kids and enjoy a memorable day filled with laughter and joy.

We hope everyone is gearing up for a relaxing and fun Easter break - fingers crossed for the sun to stay out!
Our garden beds are looking great, and there is lots of beautiful produce available, remember it is there for the community so please help yourself 😊
Thanks to Feiza and the Linden Community Centre team for getting a lovely big hose for our team to use!
Thanks to the Tawa Community Board for supporting Kai Hapori Whānui, and thanks to our small but amazing team of volunteers for the work they do in the garden.

What an amazing day we had on Monday! Garden bed 2 is ready to be planted😃.
Thanks to Derek and the awesome team of students from Tawa College who did the hard yards to make it happen along with the fabulous team Bunnings Porirua, Brendon, and Anna for not only sponsoring all the materials but leading the build of the garden 🙏
