A week away from the usual.

At Future Leaders Academy, high school students step outside their comfort zone and into experiences designed to build confidence, resilience, communication skills and leadership.

This isn’t a school camp.

And it’s not just travel.

It’s an opportunity for young people to grow — through challenge, cultural connection and shared experiences in some of the Pacific’s most incredible locations.

Some of the communities our students have visited across the Pacific are also some of the hardest places to reach after disaster strikes.

When cyclones hit, schools are damaged, communication is cut off, and remote villages can go days before being properly assessed or supported.

Through Pacific Guardians, we’re working to help close that gap—deploying small teams early into remote areas to support assessments, reporting, and recovery where access is hardest.

The Pacific Disaster Fund helps make those deployments possible.

Day 6 at Pacific Guardians Academy 🌊! Thanks to , from snorkel tours to coral cleaning our leaders found a valuable experience highlighting the connection to our ocean, to each other and to our purpose of being guardians of the Pacific and its environment 🙌☀️

Let us take you with us on day 5 of the Paacific Guardians trip in Rarotonga 🏝️ After an early sunrise hike, the crew heard from Sophie, the 2nd secretary of NZ high commission about her leadership pathway. The rest of the day was an immersive umu experience making a traditional umu, ending with an umu meal and show!
