📣 Candidate update for our Vote for Inclusive Futures: National Disability Election Forum on 7 October.

Julie Anne Genter MP will now represent the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand at the forum, replacing Kahurangi Carter due to a scheduling clash.

We're looking forward to hosting candidates from across the political spectrum and hearing how each party responds to questions about their disability policies and priorities ahead of the election.

Learn how to provide an accessible, dignified and equitable events experience to all visitors, and gain more confidence in your abilities to meet the needs of Deaf and disabled people. For all levels of experience with accessibility in the arts, the session is ideal for theatre, venue and event staff, and anyone working in front of house and customer facing roles in the arts.

It was great to hear Alice Matthews, IHC Self-Advocacy Assistant and Administrator, (Alice has been to a number of SNS events) sharing her experiences on RNZ’s Nine to Noon this morning alongside Shara Turner, IHC Senior Advocate. Together, they discussed new IHC research highlighting the employment challenges faced by people with an intellectual disability, and the importance of creating more inclusive workplaces.
