South Coast Arts Trail

South Coast Arts Trail Find the art. Find the South Coast. Self-guided arts trail, Wellington. 12–13 September 2026

20/09/2026

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts 💕

The South Coast turned into one big gallery and studio for two days last weekend, and so many people enjoyed Wellington on a good day, both days, walking, scootering, biking and meandering through the hills, valleys and coastline, to find South Coast artists and their art.

Thank you to every artist who opened a door and community space to let people into their world. To our supporters and sponsors, for backing the South Coast Arts Trail and making it possible, and supporting a grassroots community arts weekend. To every volunteer who worked for months and to the volunteers who set up before anyone arrived and packed down long after everyone left. To the schools who showed us what they’d been working on all year. And to everyone who came to visit us, from visitors, locals, and everyone who’s supported this trail.

This is what Wellington’s South Coast looks like when art brings a whole community together. And we’ve loved every minute of it, so a big thank you!

Find the art. Find the South Coast.

Edith Diggle

Edith’s paintings explore the beauty of the natural world, with subjects ranging from landscapes and seascapes to bush scenes and birds.

Her work aims to capture the essence of each place, evoking a sense of calm and creating a space to pause, observe, and feel recharged and inspired. This approach has also led to many commissioned works.

Edith is a past president and life member of Titirangi Painters, and is a member of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts and Watercolour New Zealand Inc.

Katie Williams

Katie’s creative journey began with a love of art, having majored in printmaking at art school before building a career in graphic design and advertising. Now, she is returning to her first love and bringing elements of her printmaking background into her painting practice.

Her current work explores what she describes as the flow of energy, playing with curves, light, and colour to create artworks that feel vibrant, fluid, and full of movement.

His photographs capture more than buildings and places — they preserve memories, fleeting moments, and the often-overlooked beauty of the environments we call home.

Sarah Nightingale

Sarah is an art therapist and printmaker who finds as much joy in the creative process as in the finished piece.

Her practice explores mixed printmaking processes, inspired by her discovery of screen printing while studying at art school in Liverpool. She continues to experiment with different techniques, textures, and layers to see what emerges.

For Sarah, there is a special magic in those moments when everything comes together — a sense of discovery that keeps her creating and looking forward to the next piece.
