I would like to introduce our newest Qualified Firefighter (QFF), Wilma Stenberg. At our general meeting night, Wilma received her QFF course completion certificate and her red stripes on her helmet. In June, Wilma completed her QFF course at the Fire and Emergency NZ National Training Centre in Rotorua. Congratulations, Wilma; what an amazing achievement.

🌳🔥 Getting trees trimmed at your place?

Tree trimming can leave behind a lot of branches and green waste, and it can be tempting to burn it all in one go. Burn piles can quickly grow bigger and burn hotter than expected. Make sure you keep burn piles away from anything you don't want to burn and make sure you keep it managable🔥👀

✅Check the weather and wind conditions.
✅ Make sure you have the right equipment and enough water to control the fire.
✅ Never leave a burn unattended.
✅ Check your local rules and whether you need a permit.
