With the Club turning 40 at Labour Weekend thought it was about time to share some history.

This photo was taken outside the Kabul Street pad, while never an “official” pad it did have a lot of history with the Club. Beginning with Donut and BT living there in the mid 80s, followed by Carl and Shona (both RIP). Things really escalated when AJ (RIP) purchased the property for $30k (no healthy homes standard here), with Trasky and Syd both residing there with frequent visitors from the Hastings crew. It was then sold to Stanaway in 92 and was “decommissioned “ in 2006 when sold to a member of public who had nothing to do with Club.

Right to left, Trasky, Mudlick, Colin and ?Paul?

Mudlick owned both Commandos, having swapped his mother's HZ Premier for the red one (imagine what that would be worth now!)

The Club wishes to acknowledge the recent passing of former member Barry (Baz) Mahy. Well remebered for his help with auto electrical issues. Proud Triumph owner. Condolences to family and freinds

Like so many in the motorcycling community, members and associates of the Wairoa British Motorcycle Club are shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of Jacob. Jacob was a regular and popular visitor to the pad. The club purchased the pictured Bonneville off him at one stage. Thoughts are with his family, many friends and Bay MC
