Kay and Ron Dixon are now retired and have now moved to Whangarei. For over 30 years Kay and Ron were among the stalwarts who worked voluntarily to maintain and improve our community. Without the input of Kay and Ron, Waipu would not be the well cared for community it is today.

In appreciation from the Waipu community we are holding a farewell for Kay and Ron Dixon.

Kay was a founding member of the Waipu 2000 Community Trust in 1993. Since then the Trust and the Dixon’s have worked tirelessly to make Waipu a well maintained and very tidy community.

On Wednesday April 30th at 2.30pm in the Celtic Barn Foyer Waipu 2000 Trust are hosting an afternoon tea for Waipu Citizens to show Kay and Ron our appreciation.

Hey Waipu - coming soon to the reserve next to the Waipu Volunteer Fire Brigade Station is our very own Community Orchard.

Waipu 2000 is excited to take the empty public space between Nova Scotia Drive and Hallifax Drive to create something new for our community.

Watch this space. Planting has begun.

Thanks to Northpine Ltd, Daltons Ruakaka, Waipu Lions Club, Waipu Hammer Hardware for all your assistance helping Waipu 2000 get this project underway. And of course thanks to Whangarei District Council for the use of the public space.
