Kerikeri Mountain Bike Club – NZ Secondary Schools MTB Championships! 🇳🇿
What an awesome week of racing for our junior riders at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Mountain Bike Championships! 🔥
The club members took on all four disciplines throughout the week: Cross Country, Cross Country Relay, Enduro and Downhill. There’s been plenty of great racing, heaps of effort, and some fantastic experiences along the way.
For many of our riders, this was their first time competing at Nationals, and they did themselves and the club proud! 👏
🏆 A couple of standout results:
🥉 3rd – Under 20 Cross Country Relay
Congratulations to Cole, Harry and Liam for an awesome team effort!
🥉 3rd – Under 20 Enduro
Huge effort from Hunter to secure a podium finish!
A massive well done to all our riders for giving it their best, supporting each other, and representing Kerikeri Mountain Bike Club so well throughout the week.
Plenty of smiles, some great racing, and memories to take home. Bring on the next one! 🙌🚵‍♀️

🪨 Building better trails... one rock at a time! 🚵‍♂️

This is what keeps Whitehills riding so well. It takes a dedicated crew, plenty of sweat, and a few seriously heavy rocks to create and maintain the trails we all enjoy.

A massive thanks to everyone who gave up their time to help at today's working bee. Every hour volunteered makes a difference and keeps our trail network growing stronger.

Ride the trails. Respect the trails. Help build the trails. 🤙

🚵‍♂️ Big things are happening at the Kerikeri Mountain Bike Club! 💪

Another epic working bee today as we keep shaping what will become New Zealand's northernmost downhill mountain bike track.

Located in Whitehills Mountain Bike Park—Kerikeri MTB Club's hand-crafted network of mountain bike trails—this new downhill track is set to be a real destination for gravity riders.

At 2km long, the fastest riders will be charging from top to bottom in around 3 minutes, with plenty of flow, technical features, and challenges along the way. 🔥

This project is only possible thanks to our amazing volunteers. Every shovel swung, every rock moved, and every hour donated is helping build something special for our riding community and for mountain biking in the Far North.

Want to be part of it? Join us at the next working bee and help shape the future of riding at Whitehills!

🛠️ Kerikeri MTB Club Working Bee 🛠️

📅 Sunday 28 June
🕙 10:00am
📍 White Hills Forest Gate

Come along and help us build and maintain the trails we all love to ride! With a digger on site, we'll be making progress on the new downhill track and, if all goes to plan, we might even get started on a new jump line. 🤘

Whether you can spare an hour or stay all day, every helping hand makes a difference.

🚵 Group ride from 2:00pm – bring your bike, your trail tools, and your enthusiasm. It's a great chance to give back to the trails, meet other riders, and enjoy an afternoon on the bike.

See you there! 🌲
