We're thrilled to be named as a finalist in the Southland Creative Arts Awards 2026.

The Southern District Arts Trust is nominated for the Community Trust South Community Catalyst Award, which recognises those who have helped foster connection and community in the local arts scene.

It's an honour to be recognised as a finalist, and we're humbled to be listed alongside so many talented people and groups.

The finalists for the Southland Creative Arts Awards 2026 have been announced.
A huge congratulations to all our finalists. Your creativity, dedication, and contribution to the arts in Murihiku deserve to be celebrated, and we can't wait to recognise you at this year's awards.
The standard of entries was exceptionally high, and our judges had some incredibly difficult decisions to make. Being nominated is an achievement in itself and a reflection of the impact you have on our creative community.

Southland Express Patronage award:
Awarded to a business or sponsor who has consistently supported the arts through support, patronage, collaboration and encouragement.

We'll be sorting artwork from 9am tomorrow, Monday 9 March, and packing down the hall from 1pm.

All help with the cleanup appreciated.

How lucky are we to have such incredible guest artists showing their work at our exhibition?

There's still time to come and see these pieces (and more!) by Ginney Deavoll and Daniel Wright, as well as nearly 400 other artworks.

The 21st Edge of the World Exhibition is open from 9.30am to 5pm today and tomorrow - with kite flying tomorrow for visitors of all ages 🪁

On the final day of our exhibition this Sunday, we're inviting you to fly a kite outside the Waikawa Hall 🪁

It's a chance for visitors of all ages to see the amazing art inside and have a bit of fun with a kite outside.

We'll have kites available to use, or you can bring your own.

Waikawa's scenery dotted with kites will be an artwork in itself, and a lovely way to farewell our exhibition for another year.

The 21st Edge of the World Exhibition is open daily from 9.30-5pm until Sunday 8 March.

Exhibition late night tonight ✨️

The 21st Edge of the World Exhibition is open until 9pm on Thursday at the Waikawa Hall.

We're open later, so you can take your time enjoying these award-winning works (Edge of the World Award, People's Choice, Member's Award and Special Section), as well as nearly 400 other incredible pieces of art.

Come and see what artworks have caught their eye at the 21st Edge of the World Exhibition this week at the Waikawa Hall.

Open daily from 9.30am–5pm, with a late night on Thursday (until 9pm) for anyone feeling nocturnal.

$5 entry, children 13 and under free.
